I’ve been selling on eBay since 1998 and believe me, I have seen all the ups and downs. I have seen the worthless climb to unreal levels. I have seen items so desirable and expensive, crash to nothing. Being an old time dealer, your channel has been a learning experience. Ya gotta go with the flow!

I used to shop on Ebay ALL the time, before there was the Buy Now choice. I stopped because I never could win those darn auctions! someone would always pop in at the last second and bid and get it. Remember the pieces of food people would sell that had Mary's face, or Elvis' face on them? I got a kick out of it. I have a year old potato chip, on display, in the shape of a heart. I wonder if I could sell that? 😉

I haven't sold on ebay for about 20 years, but I decided to start up again after watching your videos, and other re sellers of course. You are by far the best for information that is actually helpful though. Im not doing it for a full time gig, just something for extra money, and I enjoy garage selling and thrifting with my grand daughter, so this gives me more of a reason to go out every weekend.

I was at an estate sale and the guy had a few pieces of 80’s new old stock Tupperware. As I was looking at them the guy running the sale asked me if I was interested in more of it. I said sure, I will take a look. We went in the house and after going back and forth I bought two full truckloads of new old stock Tupperware. I paid $600 for it and so far I have sold well over $3000 worth. I have 2 huge boxes full of just Tupperware salesman party prize giveaway pieces. There is probably $1-2000 in those 2 bins alone.

When my youngest son and I go to yard sales and we see something we dont know alot about we will make a note to research it when we get home. We learn alot about everything that way. Also if your kids enjoys yard sales me and him have a competition on items we havent looked up when we get home and we each pick one item and see whos is worth more. My kids are 19 and 23. They have been going to yard sales with me all their lives. They loved it when they were young because they got all kinds of stuff because it was cheap for me. Then it became fun looking for things you could buy cheap and sell for money. Now they have they knowledge to recognize items that are or could be valuable. They each have their own niche things they love and we rely on each others knowledge to find things of value. They have unknowingly learned a trade that now they have reached adulthood can help them to make a living.

I think the issue is time. If you are continually looking for rare VHS, plush or Tupperware you are wasting time, costing yourself the opportunity to find the easier to find items. Because you have so much experience, you can recognize the few items in the bad categories and quickly identify them. Many, like myself who don't buy many collectible items, would have a hard time finding these items, but I do get lucky once in a while and find the odd ball profitable item in a bad category. The dvd category is dead. The case is usually worth more then the dvd with case and artwork, but there are a few titles that are worth money. I glance at the spines and find a profitable one once in a while. If I buy a lot, I won't pay more than 10cents per dvd, usually less. This was a fun video. Hope you do more of these type of video - instructive and entertaining.

One legit DON'T BUY IT for eBay is vintage mercury thermometers. They can't be sent through the mail and get pulled down if you list them. Might as well not bother. When it comes to jewelry, buying and selling, you have to know what you're doing. Sterling and gold are always good, but costume requires expertise. Most Avon jewelry isn't worth the effort, although the Liz Taylor line goes for real money. Most Sarah Coventry is just ballast, unless it was made for them by Delizza and Elster. Higher end vintage costume sells for fat bank, but the trick is finding it! I went out to a whole neighborhood tag sale last week, the weather turned last year's gold mine into this year's pile of tailings, and got zero jewelry. No one selling any. One estate sale I went to this year wouldn't put out any jewelry because they were afraid of thieves. (ever heard of having someone watch it? yeah, well) Another one would only sell to an "expert" and not us estate sale goes, many of who literally ARE experts. I found some at an estate sale on Saturday, but prices were insanely high for what they had. (5x what they should have been!) The prices are a HUGE problem; people research and want to sell for high prices to people who don't know what they're seeing.

If you find Schreiner going begging, money can be coined! D&E Easter Egg jewelry? Same thing. The trick is finding some worth selling at a low enough price point. There are probably millions listed right now if you did all the other searches such as, "pocket", "fixed blade" "sheath" and all the different brands etc. You need to get to the bottom of that email because you are missing out on a huge category if you just choose to say "oh well"

That’s a lazy take. As an everything seller I don’t sell a ton of hats, but have sold 5 in the last 2 weeks… and I don’t have a KZbin channel. 5 is highly unusual, but it is that time of year. If I can sell 5 without a channel Kevin can probably sell one in spite of a channel.

I sold a few hats last week, it's all about the sell through rate, if it's a low sell through, it won't sell quick. The right hats at a competitive price will sell even without a youtube channel.

@@shalyndria I’d bet both of the commentators haven’t had an argument with evilbay support… It’s not the hats that don’t sel, you’re correct … It’s the illegal shadow banning and throttling that makes sales
