My sales have improved this month. Not great, but I am up 31% in gross sales over this time last month, and up 47% over Q1 as I've been burning the midnight oil. Going in the right direction. After the 4th holiday, during the peak of the summer heat, there is a period where people seem to travel less so I think this uptrend will continue. I try to look at it on a positive note as during this slower period I get a chance to get everything ready to go for late Q3/Q4. It will be non-stop then.

I had an item removed like that once: it was the Corning Ware Cornflower coffee pot that had a recall and was removed from the market because there was a possibility that the handle would come off due to intense heat from your burner. It is no longer for sale in the US. I got the same letter from eBay about the removal (in this case a government action) and was nicely worded with an opening section saying something like "you probably didn't even know this was banned, so it's no issue with you, THIS TIME. Please don't list it again." (I paraphrase. It's been a few years.) I just remember that in this particular case it was nicely worded by eBay and didn't make me feel like a bad sellert for listing a banned product because.... who knew??

It's a commonly known recall. The way around it is to part it out!

The Rollerblade Barbie was equipped with a cigarette lighter-like device in her skates. Once dragged back and forth across a surface the roller blades would fire out sparks. Mattel eventually banned the toy due to fire hazard and safety concerns.

You cannot sell recalled items wether they are class one two or three. They are automatically blocked scu numbers at most retail establishments to prevent an accidental sale. That is really the point . They want all the “dangerous” items returned so no one gets injured in any way . 😊

I would think if eBay spent a little money coding the listing tool it would help a lot. I mean especially if you are new you are clueless on what you can sell and getting things taken down can be discouraging. If they would make that change I think they could save money in the long run and go after actual problem sellers.

Yup, I deal in a ton of vintage toys and work some toy shows time to time. That one I knew about but I’m sure most don’t think about it. I’m shocked they aren’t worth more because of the recall on them. The legend goes, some kid was using the toy with hairspray caused a fire. There are videos of people trying to recreate it.

I had one like that. It wasnt even listed. It was scheduled. Ebay flagged it as counterfeit, but when I inquired multiple times, nobody could tell me what made my item "counterfeit", but they could tell me to not continue trying to list it to avoid "account disruptions". To make things worse.. I got an email a few days later with items I had looked at that were on sale. It was the same item that I used to create my listing with was still active. I sent feedback to ebay from the email letting them know the slap in the face that was. I never heard back

Unfortunately eBay has in their terms of use the right to refuse and remove listings for anything they wish. They are not required legally to sell your item on their platform. But yes lots of brands have automatic search engines find items they represent, they file for removal, and eBay rolls over citing that they do not wish to be a party to anything that could possibly be involved in legal violations. They don’t allow appeal without you having the burden of proof on its legal legitimacy. They have zero standing against you. They also just can step out of being involved at all (which they commonly do).

Harley chaps came into Ross at the beginning of spring and they sold out within a week. They are very heavy. I imagine shipping costs would be high. I've been a Ross part-time employee for over 23 years now. It's interesting to see how long items sell. I'm at a large store that does a phenomenal business.

That's so strange about that Barbie. I've bought 2 others from the series from ebay but maybe the policy was different at the time. I got the Ken from that series with the sparking skates last June and the Barbie from that series in April. I've seen them on Mercari too so it should be ok to sell elsewhere.

The reason eBay caught your listing and not other listings is because you probably mentioned the sparking roller blades in your listing if you just listed as Barbie with rollerblades and don’t mention the sparking feature, eBay won’t catch it and you will be able to sell it but since they’ve already caught it on your account, I wouldn’t recommend that either way. I hope this helps in the future. If you have manufacture recalled items don’t mention anything about that in the listing, the people who are looking for these items know what to look for.😊

We had 4 items that were taken down last month for not following safety reasons. They were brand new in the package baby seat head rest inserts for car seats. We disposed of them, I did not want anyone having any trouble with an item like that. Also, we received our very first Neutral!! We sold NEW sleep shirts, as described in photos & description. Well it states that they are "Good enough to wear around the house." We asked for a revision, kindly. But, we are a little put off because we combined shipping & would have happily done a return. What's a seller to do??

I have only had a one recall item ever removed. It was also a manufacture recalled item. As in your case, there were dozens still listed on eBay and many more that had sold. As a test, I reported a few of the ones listed as being an item that has been recalled. eBay later responded they investigated and determined the item was fine. It made no sense as it was the exact item. 🤷‍♂ 🙄 Twice this week I've received messages from eBay about items being pulled due to them being past the expiration date. I used to sell a lot of supplements, but for now I only have a few left. I did not recognize the items they said they removed and I could not find any trace of them being listed. After some additional digging around through my records, I discovered these were items that had sold over a year ago, and well before their expiration date. I have no idea why their bot choose to send me messages about these items.

I hate when eBay does this because you forget to add the right wordage. I listed a pair of cool vintage cap guns and holster but forgot to put they are toys. eBay took them down and told me not to list again. Now what do I do with them I only list on eBay.

I had Corning Ware tea/coffee pitchers that have been removed by eBay. When I did search, there's several of the same item listed. When I contacted eBay, they said that if they have a metal handle, that the handle will fall off. Mine has a plastic handle,????. Not taking any chance relisting on eBay. Already received two warnings and don't want jeopardize my account 😮

I would not resell an item that has been recalled, no matter who did the recall. Especially when it has been recalled bc it is dangerous. Would you not feel bad if you sold this and a child was injured? There would be no amount of money that would be worth that for me. Good luck.
