Welcome to the first episode of BRUTAL REVIEW! A series I’m now starting because wow I really tore into these figures didn’t I? Who knew I could be so sassy and dramatic! I’m sure it will happen again so might as well make it a thing right? I say my nitpicks are grounded since these were so expensive. Anyways, today’s anime figure unboxing is of both the NANA figures that were released last year. They took a while to get here, but since I always pay the cheapest when it comes to shipping anime figures from over seas that’s the norm around these parts. I could tell you how disappointing these figures are and how I don’t recommend them unless you can get them cheaper than they came out for, but I’ll let the video do the talking ;)
Thanks for watching, hope you enjoyed, and have a wonderful day!

I'm so happy, I got Nana Ozaki for 30 bucks ! Really glad I could get her, otherwise I'd never have been able to afford her.

It's a shame whenever a anticipated figure ends up being disappoint, ESPECIALLY for a niche property like Nana. Shame, these are probably the best fans of the show/manga will get.

I know that's what I was thinking too. We probably won't get many if any others, so it's a shame these are so expensive for what they are - hopefully they go down aftermarket. I did see there are bootlegs and I'm curious how they turned out vs the authentic ones since I feel these are overpriced.

Right, it would have made them a lot better.

The green leaf on the stem on my Hachi's base touches her legs directly on her boots so I'm worried that the paint will transfer eventually. It seems that the quality control wasn't as good as it could have been on these figures.

Agreed, they needed better quality control for sure. Sorry to hear about your Hatchi!

First comment! It's a pity the figures weren't better, but if they do go up in the secondary market, you could always sell them. And, if not, well it's only money. Mind you, I did think the second figure looked pretty good, but I have no idea what to look for. I liked her crossed arms and her raised finger. And the fishnets. Also loved your cosplay.

Yay! Thanks for watching and your comment :) Yeah it's a shame, but you're right I could resell them if they go up after market. I think I might try to paint them up to look better though (unless they go way up after market haha). I think the second one was good, just not $150+ good, so not worth it. The first one was such a disappointment though.

I love nana but I never liked those figure...the base are so trashy for me with all those flower and the sweater on hachi wth? Is like and old sweater that my grand grand mother used 100 years ago...from all the cool outfit nana have? Come on 😢

@@AlvinREDDELTA I might just give it a try (when I have time). I tend to prefer older styles of anime (before everything looked so clean).

That is disappointing. I have heard a few folk not being as enamoured with the figures that they thought they would have been. They are pretty but, I think I will take a miss on these. I had been looking at them online but....may hang onto cash! I got a 1/7 scale Zoro Three Musketeer figure delivered to me yesterday....from a seller on ebay, for £10. He is totally legit as I scrutinised him to within an inch of the black and gold detailed shirt he is wearing, the tight leather trouser details and his silly green hair.....and I do not think the seller knew what they had on them....he still sells in Japan for about £100 so, I think I won a watch with that one! To compare, a used Sanji version of the figure is about £80 on ebay.

I recommend skipping and maybe picking them up aftermarket if they're less. I love when people don't know what they have lol! Lucky you ^.^ Also, cool you collect OnePiece, my husband's super into it too (he doesn't really collect figure though). I'm a little too scared of how long it is to start getting into it though haha, too many other series I want to start.

For that much $, I was not impressed with the first one at all. I would expect the artwork and painting to be much better! Nana looks a lot like Nina, the German singer who did 99 red balloons. She did a recent duet with Kim Wilde, whenever, wherever. Watch that vid and you'll see what I mean. I was amused and terrified at the same time watching you swing that knife around LMAO. I knew something was bound to happen! Yep, I made it to the end. I watch a little bit for the figures, but the way you describe them is always entertaining. Your descriptions are educated.. Not just 'oh this is so pretty'. You know about colors, shading and the art that should be going into them and well spoken. Your outfit, yeah, that was intriguing 😅

Love 99 luffballons! Hadn't listened to anything else by Nena until now. That Anywhere, Anyplace, Anytime song is awesome and I love the style of the music video! That's not recent, but that's what came up for whenever, whatever on KZbin. As for that knife, I couldn't cut myself if I tried lol- it super dull, one of the dullest ones I own (and I have a lot), probably why I struggled so much with the tape. I'm glad my reviews entertain you! I took a lot of art classes in the past and we always had to critic eachothers work, so I've had practice. Thanks!

@@Konsuming_PlastiK yes! That's the name of the song I just can't ever remember the name of it. 2 of my favorite hotties from the past. No, it's really not recent, but if it's old, then I might be old.. and I'm trying to reject that whole notion of getting old! Knives, Cold Steel is my favorite brand. They served me and my sons for 20+ years of interesting and active jobs here and overseas, and never broke a single one. Critiquing art is hard.. Doing it to classmates and friends even harder! I don't envy you for having to do that. I don't really have much art school experience, other than some specialized stuff from automotive paint manufacturers. Most is stuff I picked up from my mom. She uses all kinds of mediums and has her work all over the Midwest. It will be very interesting if you ever show any of your own work. Especially if you try an airbrush. And I like that you don't have other "special" sites.

@@pappytinkers Lol I know how you feel, it's crazy how fast time flys. I always hated critiquing others and not going to lie it really made me feel disconnected from my own art for a while. Didn't want to take the critiques personally and watch something I worked hard on get verbally ripped to shreds, so I wouldn't care about what I made or feel proud of my work. Been getting better at that, not the type to care what others think anyways, but it sucked for a while. That's awesome you picked up art from your mom, I'd love to see some of her work! I picked up the model building stuff from my dad (most of the art stuff though was self-taught). Funny enough he just bought himself an airbrush! I'm going to have to try it out at some point. Maybe I'll record my first time attempting to airbrush :D Sounds like fun ^.^ Also, I will never be on any 'special' sites, I have respect for myself.
