@chiptaxfree I just use the regular ride mode adjustments on the dash. I don't use visor settings for anything. For riding with all my luggage (to include panniers, to case, 40ltr dry bag, and tent) I select the preload for passenger and luggage on the dash. I had one warranty replacement on the rear TPMS. They read a few pounds lighter than a gague. I run the recommended 38/40 on hwy, 36/38 on twisty roads and dirt roads.

As the owner of a 2023 GT Pro (in white), I agree with most of what you said. I don't have any issues raising or lowering the windscreen while riding. However, I don't think the seat is all that comfortable--everyone's posterior is different, I know. I don't want to buy an aftermarket seat due to losing the heat, so I've ordered a gel pad to try. In my 55 years of riding all types of motorcycles from just about every manufacturer, my Triumph may be the best bike I've ever owned (so far). Good video. Ride safe.

Thanks for a great real life report. I have had my gt pro for 2 years but only done 9000 miles. However, the weather is so variable in the UK, the bike is almost always covered in muck! I have only had a faulty heated grip so far. My mine doesn't use any oil between services. It does seem yours uses a lot. My 800 didn't burn any either. I also agree about the Bluetooth being flakey! All in all, though, a better bike than the 800, and easier to put on the centre stand. I also find the vibration is less of an issue on the 900. The 800 was a bit buzzy.. well done you!

Great review. I've had mine for two years, and lots of long distance trips. Get a GIVI touring screen. It's too big, but great for cold weather. Put Grip Puppies on the grips. Still gets plenty hot, and gives a little vibration protection. And yes the GoPro integration is cool, when it works. It's one of my biggest frustrations. Seat wasn't great for me, I got a Sargeant aftermarket. It has a cutout for man parts that I appreciate. Quick shifter is brilliant. I thought I would never us it, but now I love it. Look at the Tutoro chain oiler as well. Makes it fantastic for long trips not having to check the chain. 18,000 miles on first chain. You didn't mention the front end being adjustable for dampening and rebound. The stock setting dipped too much for me, but you can adjust it pretty easily. I replaced the plastic handguards with Bark Busters, no more problems with drops. The 12k service is stupid expensive. Triumph should update the engine to use hydraulic lifters so they don't need to do those port checks. For me the price is about $2k. After 5 of them I will have more in the maintenance checks than the price of the bike! It's the one reason why I probably won't buy another Tiger.

Excellent review! I'm in the market for a new bike an the GT Pro is probably top of the list. I've seen plenty of reviews and spent some time on the forums trying to get a feel for what to expect. Seems to have been a few common issues regards fuelling, minor electrical niggles and the quality of some parts, but no more so than other bikes in the same price range. Could be some owners have had 'friday night' bikes, while others report no problems whatsoever. Vibrations through the bars & pegs was another reported complaint but I'm wondering whether this is more to do with reviewers testing demo bikes with relatively few miles. Having said that, Triumph have fitted elastomer bushes in the bar risers on the 2024 model, so at least they've been listening. Still a bit pricey for me so will be a while before I take the plunge

Vibrations are very strong in high revs. I road demo bike on Fri for a couple of hours and wanted to see test vibrations. They basically almost don't exist on lower RPMs. I don't remember the RMPs number where it starts, but they start to appear about 120-125km/h (80-85 mph). If one rides slower RPMs than required for this speed, there will be no vibrations. Also, internet says that Sport mode gives lower vibrations. If you redline the bike, you will feel vibrations very clearly and strongly, even the seat vibrates. But I don't mind that as long as I can cruise without them.

Heck, I dropped mine this year. 😆 The point is, once you've got your sea legs again, then get the bike you're dreaming of. The ones you listed would all be good to start riding again! A lower cc is much more forgiving and makes you learn your skills. Good luck! 🙂

I'm not sure what diificulty you're having with the windscreen. I simply reach out and grab the bar to raise or lower it. Perhaps the tracks on yours needs a shot of lubricant(?) The Bluetooth connectivity on the Tigers can be dependent on the phone you have. There's a list you can look up to see if your phone has been "tested". Even at that, it can be as problematic as Ducati and BMW. Using the Zumo is certainly an alternative, but of course you lose the convenience of the joystick. I agree on the grips. After 6 months, my grips look like they're 5 years old. I usually throw a cover over my bike too, to minimize UV damage...to anything. Great review. Looking forward to more. 👌

I fitted Puig Upper Deflectors 20420H for the smoke colour. These replace the wings either side of the wind screen. They are larger than original and push more air around the rider. Our Tigers in Australia come fitted with Tourance Next tyres. They are rubbish in the wet. I fit Michelin Road 6 so much better. Do you use the Offrode mode when offroad? It will back the rear preload right off lowering the bike making it much more controllable on loose surface as well as dulling the throttle response for rough roads.

I did the same on my tiger gt. I found they made a big difference especially on the highway. Tourance next tires we’re fine on the road however I changed them out after 5 k miles. I went with the Dunlop trail max missions due to the BDR riding I plan on doing. The work very well on dirt roads and I’m not disappointed at all on the street. They’re not any louder than the stock tires we’re at highway speeds.

A new air filter and clean oil will improve MPG. saying that you done 40K and in a year wow that's impressive traveling . wish I had the time and lived in country that had the space to that .I live north UK have to get to France to travel across Europe if want to do any long touring .
@Czeching_Out_America
@Czeching_Out_America 9 ай бұрын
Yes, they were off when they did the check. I believe the air filter was a different service interval than that particular check. I'm not always able to hit the service intervals spot on, so sometimes things get done earlier or later than the all at once sequence.

When you replaced thr chains did you do the sprockets also? I thought chains should last a bit longer than that...closer to 20K miles. I would love to see you review the 1200 GT and compare 😬
@Czeching_Out_America

I inspect the sprockets each time, but do not change them every time. I'm generally gentle on the throttle, so they tend to last.

Like ABS, an electronically adjustable windscreen (if it has one) should be standard on every bike. It's not that complicated and raises the comfort by a mile. That alone makes me stick to my dull Burgman 650. I guess most people that design motorbikes don't have a driver license themself.

Does it remember pre-load settings after switching the bike off and turning it on again? I saw another video that the only real complaint about the bike was after each fuel stop a person needed to set preload settings again, because he was riding with a passenger and luggage.

I test rode a 900 GT and just loved it....BUT I did notice heat coming from the left side of the engine by the seat and also coming out of the radiator vents onto my legs. Have you had any issues with the cockpit and/or your legs getting hot? I rode it for about 15 mins and the temperature was only 66 degrees F. I then let the bike run for a couple minutes to simulate stop and go traffic and there was definite heat. Online it seems like some people are having unbearable heat and others are not, so I'm waffling.
@Czeching_Out_America
@Czeching_Out_America 8 ай бұрын
I'm not experiencing any problems with the heat. When it's really cold out (30's to 50's), I can feel a pleasant warmth at times, but out in the desert heat and general hot summer weather, it didn't add any more heat than other bikes I've ridden. Not nearly like some I've ridden.

Good review. I am curious how many miles you are getting on a set of tires - especially the originals. I love my Dunlop Trailmax Missions which is what I will put on when the original tires are done. They are durable and great off-road. Only complaint I have is my grips don't seem to get hot enough. The Tiger 800 was much better. The bike is much more balanced than the 800 and has better low end torque. I have not had any issues off-road, but I do wish it had a 21" front wheel like the Rally.

I was thinking that grips on demo bike looked odd, like not clean. Now with your review, it's clear why. They just low quality and get worn out very quickly. And surely, demo bike doesn't have even 10k on it, and they already look worn out. So, they look like that probably just due time, not even really through use.

1 quart is almost 1 liter of oil. That's a lot of oil to burn! The oil capacity on oil change is just to add 3.15 liters. So, almost third of all oil is burned in just 6000 miles. This is crazy to that they consider that normal. This literally means one needs to be checking oil every day while on a trip and carry 1 liter of oil with them. This is very concerning.
@Czeching_Out_America
@Czeching_Out_America 7 ай бұрын
I agree! However, I was assured by the mechanic at the dealership that this is expected usage and it is not critical until there is only 1 litre left. That is, according to the mechanic, a quote from Triumph.

@@Czeching_Out_America actually I went a bit on search binge about this, after watching your video, because I'm at the moment trying to decide which bike to get and this one is at the top of my list. And this seemed very concerning. However, there are a lot of 900 owners saying the same thing about oil use (the same was also true with 800, I guess Triumph just builds them this way). Thus, it's pretty much indeed normal for this bike. Just a bit sad that one needs to carry a small bottle of oil on their travels (since space is always limited on the bike). My only use of the bike will be travel 1-3 months at the time.

I have the Rally version. Very great review. I added T-Rex racing skid plate and upper and lower crash bars. Outback motorteck pannier rack which fit my mosko moto soft panniers, also Outback is developing hard sided panniers that works with mosko moto. The luggage rack is T-Rex also haven't found a top box I am impressed with as many are plastic. A Corbin seat and road lights. Hit a skunk at night and a deer but did drop the bike just broke a mirror, double take mirrors on ram mounts. Look for different windshield. Need a bike for my wife rides with. Wanted the new NT1100 but Honda will not import to the US it only for EU. The US dealer won't carry it as no market and may hurt the Very expensive Goldwing sales. There is a big market for the super sport bikes, who would ride one 300 miles. The Transalp is not a 2up touring bike and most reviews are compared with other and they are biased against honda always, if the bike was a tricycle the tricycle would win. This is the best honest motorcycle review. Thanks. 20k on mine. My true adventure bike is the CRF300L Rally, I shipped to the Philippines where we live.
