Here is my take, the people who feel ashamed of joining TCS, Wipro,Infy because they offer 3 Lpa, plan to escape India just to land in developed countries where they are equivalent of daily wager of India, excluding some good students who joins ivy league rest are there to just look cool and get some job in process having no idea what to do in life. Reality hits harder when they land there

Studying in US is NOT THE SAME AS IN INDIA. Please keep that in mind. In India you can fool around all semester long and write the final exam and graduate. The exam formats in India are stereo type where typically a problem is given that may have 10 variables you are given 9 variable values plug the formula and write the answer. Your weekly assignments, attendance, class participation are all factored in the final grade. Also the class lectures are predetermined for each day by the instructor. You are typically supposed to self study and try to understand the subject before the lecture begins. There won't be any spoon feeding. You must be strong in fundamentals, analytical. Mugging and spitting out the topic is NOT going to help here. This is reality.
