@@onovojnrvlog4552 quick suggestion: do your research on some Canadian employers, especially if they are from your own background, that way you can land a chance of being seen by some employer who needs someone from their own nation and background either because of language and knowledge of the services related to their background and requirement in Canada or other such things. See if you can communicate with them and present your CV to them and why you choose them. Maybe even work on your CV because Canadian requirement of how a CV is formatted/written is slightly different from others and trust me even that's important in getting a job in Canada or anywhere. Great video! I hope you can add this important one to the DON'T: Don't get marry after you have been granted your immigrant visa and landed papers because the moment you do, your status has changed that means you shouldn't come and land in Canada but you should inform embassy and they have to start your spouse process and approve it with yours which normally takes months. Save yourself the heart and headache that can last for several years. You either land in Canada first and then return to Naija for your wonderful marriage or after marriage, wait in Naija and send your spouse documents in for processing. Thanks

This information is misleading as it's a personal decision and I know a lot of people who did this and got their visas reissued in a few months for both spouses. I also know someone who got it reissued after a month as well. Whatever you might have experienced isn't what is obtainable right now. Plus again I personally think it pays to get it done in Nigeria once and for all cos the spousal sponsorship path takes forever. Family is important!

@@tbjamzz I will use story to explain. I will use A, B and C. A was a resident in Europe and got Canadian immigrant visa in Europe. After having the visa, A went straight to Naija to marry and immediately came to Canada after the marriage. At border, A said officer asked if A status has changed and A said yes. The officer said he can't allow A to LAND in Canada cos A status has changed after applying for Canadian permanent residency. He then issued visitor's visa to A that enables A into Canada. A stayed for few weeks as a visitor in Canada and returned to Naija. A sent in spouse application and waited for the approval. During this period A went straight to mountain fasting and praying cos u know wetin people for Naija go talk about this. After approval, both are now in Canada. B was a resident in Europe and got Canadian immigrant visa in Europe. After having the visa, B went straight to Naija to marry and immediately came to Canada. At border, B said officer did not asked if B status has changed. So B landed safely in Canada. After few months, B applied for spouse permanent residency. The application was refused stating that B did not inform them when B status changed and that B lied when B was asked if B status has changed at the border. B has been arguing the case in court for years now costing a lot of money. Don't forget government hardly accept that they were wrong. C was based in Naija, C started application and during that period C got married. Before C could send in spouse application, C was told C's immigrant visa was ready. C quickly inform them that C is married and send in spouse application. After a while both were issued immigrant visas and relocated to Canada. These are true life stories. I hope this will help. Only if you are in a specialized field, e.g., a hi tec specialist, etc. I can't see a secretary or an accountant applying for a job before getting here. They are just going to toss that application out. If you are in the medical field. You have to come and write exams first to get registered and licensed. .Engineers and architects, school first. . Lawyers, you have to article and be called to the bar first. I would like the writer to let people know these things. For the average job, they are going to say you "Have no Canadian experience". They are not going to enploy you when you are a dime a dozen and do not live here. Contract jobs are farm jobs during the summer. Come with some money to tide you through a few months and as she said do a lot of research.

Yes, you’re right! 💯 I understand what you mean but it’s good to apply not necessarily to get a job but to understand how the job system works here, get familiar with jobs search sites, find common qualifications/skills some jobs need. It’s totally different from how it works back home for most immigrants and the resume style is also very different. Yeah, I have videos about the licensing procedures for regulated professions as I’m an Engineer - in-Training myself. I did one with a lawyer here - kzbin.info/www/bejne/o6HMcpuAbJdkn80 and I have more coming soon.

I have never experienced racism from Canadians,do some wyt folks act weird yes, but in fact they have treated me way better than I expected, but those other immigrants I won't mention names, they are the ones who actually want to treat blks anyhow. But yeah Canada has its opportunities but can be mentally and emotionally hard for blks. The life style here is very very different and one can feel isolated. But I always tell Blk folks come experience as much opportunities as possible, work hard and smart and save and if you not feeling the vibes, relocate back home and invest.

Yes o!!!! Hmm, sadly a few people still move abroad without doing the research themselves. They do things based on what “someone abroad” tells them, sometimes out of the frustration to leave Nigeria or where they are from. Even with things I say on this channel, I tell people to still do their own research because it’s your decision to make on where to live, what career to choose etc. I can share useful information and tips but it’s not me that will go to the job for you if you don’t like it or its not me that will live in a city that you don’t like. Even if you’re using an agent please do your own research! Thanks for sharing this, I hope people read it. Thanks for watching also! 🙏🏾
