He was stuck in his old ways of cooking even though the lady suggested him to change his ways multiple times. Everyone in the comment section here talking about how she doesn't respect the hierarchy, but forgets that not only does the movie eventually prove her right, but that the chef himself is the one who asked her to join his team MULTIPLE times, even after this incident She barely even wanted to work for him, but did so even though his menu was bullshit. "Yes, chef" should only apply in the heat of service. Outside of that, your power trip does nothing to actually fix any of the issues and the entire movie is essentially about how that attitude is working against him.

@estinhewart
@estinhewart Жыл бұрын
@@spencermannan6075 I will answer your questions/address your points individually. "Veganism alone won't stop climate change" I never said that people going vegan alone will stop climate change. It has been proven that if *everyone* went vegan, climate change would be a non-issue due to how much greenhouse gas emissions are prevented, land, water and crops saved, and deforestation halted, along with the potential for massive reforesting of areas that have been cleared for grazing, farmland and intensive livestock infrastructure, and environmentally positive land use change. Also, it's been proven by tons of studies and acknowledged by the United Nations that we can't possibly avert crossing the catastrophic 2C threshold of global warming since pre-industrial levels without huge reductions in global animal product consumption and shifts towards more sustainable (plant-based) diets. So, not only can vegan diets stop climate change if enough people adopt them, and certainly everyone's contribution matters, but we also can't possibly avoid the worst of climate change without transitioning to significantly more plant-based diets. Specifically, it was found that a person eating the average American diet would need to decrease their consumption of most animal products by about 80% at least in order for us to meet our key climate targets. Also, going vegan (for the average person) reduces your overal environmental impact by about 75% and your carbon footprint by about 77%, and is found to be the biggest thing any individual can do to help the environment and the climate, as well as animals. Plant-based diets are also continuously associated with better health outcomes. "we have evolved to eat meat" What our ancestors did during survival situations (and when we were less evolved) is irrelevant; they also raped each other, ate each other and killed their own babies. Food scarcity caused us to need to hunt other animals for survival, not for optimal health, and we are definitely a lot healthier today with longer life expectancies than our ancestors, who probably weren't the most healthy and didn't live very long. Animal proteins are proven to cause a range of health problems and even deaths in humans that we often treat as a normal part of life (including obesity, diabetes, stroke, cancers, and heart disease), whereas plant proteins are consistently found to result in better health outcomes, longer life expectancies, and the prevention and reversal of diseases and other causes of morbidity and mortality. Unlike our early human ancestors, we have no need to eat meat or animal products, and while for them it may have served a necessary purpose of ensuring their survival, for us it actually causes more harm than good in all areas (including health-wise, environmentally, ethically, economically, and for global sustainability and security). So you know, the next pandemic is very likely to be caused by the increasingly intensive factory farming of animals in the United States. "and a lack of protien is definitely unhealthy" This is an easy one, plant based foods have tons of protein. You'll have no trouble getting enough protein on a vegan diet, and in fact most people tend to eat more protein than they need (on all diets) since people have an obsession with protein. Eat enough legumes, grains, seeds, nuts, or other high-protein foods like tofu or seitan or mock meats or many others, and you can be a vegan bodybuilder if you want. The idea that animal products are equivalent to protein, or that plant based foods don't have protein (or enough protein), is a very backwards view coming from traditional conservative culture. You will still find some restaurants erroneously referring to animal products as "protein", which reinforces the false narrative that vegan food lacks protein. To me this says a lot about how little most people know about food or nutrition (no offense, it's our broken education system). "people can care about animals while still eating meat" Technically they can, and I didn't say that people who aren't vegan don't care about animals. I'm just saying that if they do care about animals, they should align their actions with their values and stop paying for animals to suffer and be killed after only a fraction of their lifespan, all for completely unnecessary and just harmful purposes. A vegan was reported as saving somewhere between 100-300 animals per year, and I'm pretty sure that's only counting animals who would otherwise be slaughtered as a result of a non-vegan's purchases, and doesn't even include all the animal suffering caused. Can you care about animals while paying for their unnecessary forced breeding, exploitation, abuse and murder (I'm using the word because it flows better than "killing"), when there are much better alternatives available to most people? Yes, but there's a contradiction there that I'm trying to tease out and get people to analyse, between loving animals while simultaneously causing their needless suffering just for our own desires. "Why advocate on some random youtube comment, tho?" It took only a second to post the comment, lots of people have likely seen it and gotten the message, and now I've had someone (you), engaging me about it. This is the goal, to spread awareness and start a conversation about humans' very unhealthy and dangerous relationship to and treatment of other animals, and to encourage people to: 1. Go vegan and eat a healthy, balanced plant-based diet for the good of the planet, the animals and your health. 2. Don't take my word for anything I said (though I didn't lie) and please do your research.

The World Health Organization has officially categorised red meats and processed meats as carcinogenic, meaning they cause cancer. The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (echoing the consensus of many other organisations and studies) concludes that plant based diets are healthful and nutritious for all stages of life, while also providing health benefits and lowering the risks of disease, illness and all-cause mortality, with an additional mention of their lower environmental impact and much better sustainability as well.
@estinhewart

Plant-based is not a fad diet, it's the future. Plant-based diets are simply what we all need to be eating for the environment, to properly respect animals, and for our health (proven consistently to be the healthiest type of diet we can eat due to the absence of animal products, which are generally proven to be unhealthy across the board).

“Until the equality kicks in” you mean insecurity and the emotional instability of a grown man is called equality? Ladies been seeing and putting up with this behavior in their homes for centuries. Now it’s equality because he’s doing it in front of his coworkers? 🤣 You brand of logic is my favourite because then you have the audacity to complain about women divorcing men. 😂

My past job was delivering produce and other things to some restaurants some of them are high end ones and sometimes the head chef asked me "Are all of these fresh?" "all orders complete?" "I need 2kg more of these" And I instinctively reply with "Yes Chef" because that's how everyone else there replies.
