Afternoon Michael. Turn your rice and beans into instant rice and beans. Cook up rice, dehydrate, store in mylar. Do same with beans. When ready to eat, just add enough hot water to hydrate. Might as well do the cooking now while we have the time and the fuel to do it. Will save on fuel, time and water during a disaster.

We bought a camper stove from a old camper and built a cabinet around it so it was portable...that way, we can cook and bake with it too...We have some food that can be eaten right out and other foods that can be cooked.....mostly, we focused on meats first.

Rations was also a controlled amount of food, for example when i was overseas we were rationed only so much food, cigarettes', or alcohol, it was rationed

Never really cared for any of the ration bars however, found a way to consume them by breaking it up and mixing with water to make a slurry type drink. Easier to consume than just chomping on them.

Canned Tuna,Chicken, tomatoes, mixed vegetables, potatoes, and sardines. For dried food. Beef jerky, granola, nature valley bars, dried fruit. Buy and make your own survival food Or even better. Grow and make your own food. Look into and study canning techniques.

I'm a single father and never got into prepping until hurricane Ian hit us here in Florida. I literally have a closet filled up with boxes full of mre's/boxed water we got from the national guard and just canned food I've been saving. As long as you hear that hiss when you open it then you know it's still good.

Datrex are awesome. I just can't have them. Bummer. If I got some, they'd go in the Share bin.

so these items are great, they will last a long time, problem is , its not practical, you are paying for the shelf life stability , and way to expensive for extra food, when it says 67 servings it means small amount of food, it dont mean 6 meals it means 3 of those servings wil be for a meal....
