I just want to add a testimonial... I started Dr. Ellies program 6 months ago. I was in the middle of getting fillings when the pandemic happened, and life kicked me a few times since then, and I hadn't been to a dentist in the meantime. So I knew I had work to be done, also hadn't had a cleaning since 2019. When I went to the dentist last week, I had ZERO cavities, and my cleaning took less than 20 minutes. No pockets. I watched about 15 videos before starting the program to make sure I knew what I was doing, and I did all of it. I did have the black plaque pop up during that time and almost stopped but did more searching and found that it was actually a good sign, so I kept going. When I started the system I didn't have high hopes, and I am so thrilled this worked for me

What is the black plaque?
@dr.elliephillips4 ай бұрын
@@mayiakashmurr3000 Old non-vital plaque - which is often very sticky ( especially if you eat sugars or carbs.) It forms as surface debris that needs to be brushed off. But this plaque can be sticky and difficult unless you do a good job immediately. People suddenly notice it after 8-10 weeks on my system and get nervous it is bad. Their oral health has improved - so it confuses people. The ideal is to brush more vigorously at the start with the brushes that I recommend. But often people have just purchased electric brushes and "think" they are better - but electric are too soft and ineffective so they don't get this stuff off. Other problems come from fear of brushing too hard - something they were told...maybe that they were brushing their enamel away or their gums away. I have to combat these wrong toothbrushes, sometimes wrong products, wrong technique of brushing, and wrong ideas about how to brush......and so from time to time an area close to the gum gets dark with debris that is not being brushed off. A dental cleaning will clean it away - and if you are using xylitol each day - it should not come back - ever.

I started your program in October 2023. I had just noticed how bad my gums had receded. That was when I found your video. I had to use a sensitive toothpaste for three teeth with root canals that "ached." I used the toothpaste you recommended, and to my surprise, my teeth did not hurt. Not only that, but I had significant gum regrowth in several areas. When I had my cleaning a few weeks ago, I told my hygenist about the growth. Without missing a beat, she told me, "Gums don't grow back." I told her, "Yes, they do, I'm living proof!" I then showed her the front lower tooth that on the previous appointment, the gums were very low. She looked but did not say anything. I hope she learned something.

My story, to just add stories here. At restaurant a purchased salad include a rock. Bit very hard to chew my salad and the rock was inbetween my teeth! The lower tooth was evidently the lesser strongly rooted (as compared to the top tooth). This caused extreme pressure at the base of my lower tooth where it met the arteries and veins. So much pressure that it damaged the connection at base of that tooth. Waited a full week to see if things might magically heal by themselves, but it was permanently damaged by that indident. Went to my dentist, referral to endontist. He did a root canal. Despite all of the negative press and stories, I have not had any negative obvious effects from this yet. It happened maybe 5 years ago. My USA dentist was condescending when I told him I had root canal from an endontists in Tijuana, Mexico. He asked if he could make an evaluation of how good or bad that job was done. He took an xray, evaluated, and then said 'The person who did this root canal did an excellent job on you.'

I'd LOVE to hear a dentist discuss reasons why you SHOULDNT get a root canal! Here's my experience for example: I've never had a root canal in my entire life, and I'm in my sixties now. I have one "overlay" thats kinda chipped and one very old amalgam filling in a molar that chipped that tooth, several years ago actually, I need probably two crowns on those two molars. Mind you, I've had NO PAIN ever in those two teeth, and suddenly two dentists, after taking dozens of full x-rays both try to tell me I need root canals done. They dont agree on exactly WHICH TWO TEETH need said root canals, but the one with the amalgam filling is one they both agree need one. They've stated the nerve is dead thats why I dont have any pain. I asked them "wait if I had an infection, this is what they say killed the nerve...., wouldnt I have had pain at that time?" Oh no, not necessarily! I call have to call bullshit. Infections HURT period! If you've had NO PAIN, you have no infection! Two different offices, two different dentists! I'm afraid to try a third office at this point, they'll only want to take MORE x-rays until I start to have glow in the dark teeth! 😨

In my experience there can be exploding pain even if the tooth is just fine but there’s a space between the gum and the tooth that has detached and there’s old food slime in there so it’s the gum or the tooth edge that’s getting damaged and the nerves in the gum are also feeling it . Once that’s cleaned , the pain goes away and it’s kept clean or the gum reattaches, the pain never comes back .

In the 1980s a TV program launched an interest in the US for "Cosmetic Dentistry" with everyone wanting "New Smiles" .....etc. This created a dramatic increase in need for crowns AND root canals . Dentists everywhere started to do them - virtually untrained and with cheaper gutta percha points in the canals and toxic cements and horrible non-effective cleaning methods. The pain is high up on the gums My dentist exrayed, and said there was infection, but not around the root canal. I was put on an antibiotic, and I was no1t happy about that. The pain disappeared, but it is back, just not as sharp.I told the dentist it could be from my sinus issue, but he disagreed. The issue is back, but allergy weather, and trees have been blooming, and we're having storms in Ohio, and humidity, which makes me froggy in the throat. I still believe that the teeth or gums can be related to sinus issues. I am fastidious when it comes to brushing, and flossing, and I have to use toothpicks because I DON'T like anything in my teeth. I take maybe too good care of my teeth, so I rarely have to see the dentist but for cleaning. I intended to purchase the items you recommended for your tooth care program., but I have had vertigo, so decided to get home earlier than I normally would have. I like your content, and plan to keep learning. Thank you.

Glad to have found your channel! I’m now in a dilemma with my molar that’s been treated by an endodontist 3x now in a span of 22 years. After every 5-7 years or so, unfortunately, it gets infected again. Now my dentist told me I have a small infection again and my molar is already discolored immensely. Which I suppose is dead. He told me that root canal makes no sense anymore as my molar can’t be saved anymore. So he advised he’d rather pull it out before it causes more infection and put an implant as the cost of root canal is almost the same. What do I do? I’m in the Netherlands and I’m doing my best to get your system so I could start implementing it. I could get most of the products in Amazon although it’s bloody expensive compared to the US but it’s ok. But I can’t find the Act anticavity.🙁 And now I have to make a decision asap as to have another root canal or have it pulled and get an implant. Help.🙏🏼

According to a few experts, a root canal should never be performed since there will be always a lingering infection in the site. That infection can cause cardiovascular problems not mentioning brain complications. That was discovered with the new 3d cone imaging - which most dentist don’t have yet. Yes, pulling a tooth is bad but a root canal is worse

The cone image shows gum infection not seen on routine x-rays. And yes, can cause bacteria that goes to the heart and collects. Not cholesterol. Much oh atherosclerosis is from undetected gum disease. The cholesterol forms to protect from the assault of bacteria. Check out Dr. Thomas Levy’s work. Cholesterol is at the scene of the crime. But is not the perpetrator.

Thanks Dr Ellie, I’ve been following you for sometime, but I don’t think I’ve heard you speak on the importance of diet, to prevent cavity’s or decay, only using your system, I’ve been learning that products do so little, it’s what you eat. Any thoughts ?
@SunrayStar4 ай бұрын
She does think that diet is very important and covers this topic in her books. In her book Mouth Care Comes Clean, here are a few things she said: To aid digestion and counter acid reflux problems: 2-3 oz. of yogurt mixed with 1 tsp maple syrup or xylitol or 1 oz. fresh pineapple or papaya. Food pairing: Add eggs to salad greens, which increases absorption of nutrients from the egg and the greens, compared to eating these foods individually. Bananas with whole milk, custard or yogurt increases calcium uptake. Spinach: adding some vitamin C, like citrus juice, can help block oxalates from binding with calcium. Light steaming can also reduce the oxalates. To increase absorption of fat-soluble minerals from spinach or other green vegetables, add butter. Vitamins in strawberries and blueberries are better absorbed if eaten with dairy or foods rich in vitamin E like almond, peanut or sunflower seed butter. Tooth-protective foods to snack on or end meals with: Salty nuts, nut butters, bananas, apples, pineapple, alkaline vegetables of all kinds such as celery, avocado or potatoes; cow’s milk, kefir or yogurt, cheese, dark chocolate, and of course xylitol. If xylitol is not available, these foods can make the mouth alkaline. If you drink milk while eating something acidic or sweet that would otherwise damage your teeth, the calcium and phosphate in it will prevent enamel damage. Xylitol is a prebiotic and digests to form butyrate in the colon, which helps support and heal the cells of the colon lining and therefore is good for gut health and mineral absorption.

It sounds as if that filling WILL eventually need replacement - but yes, getting your mouth healthy if possible first - is a great idea. Hello Dr Ellies, thank you for this informative video. I have a question on the filling. One of my lower right side molar tooth had a resin filling and I bit on a blackberry seed and it broke a little piece of it next to my wisdom tooth. It was a very small piece that broke and was not hurting at all. At first I thought it was a cavity so I call the dentist and made an appt to go get it checked. He checked and said the filling broke and that he'll fill only that little piece that broke. Okay I thought to myself, better than redoing the whole tooth I guess, little I knew. The day came to go fix that little piece that broke, he did the job quite fast. When he was working on it, he used this tool that vibrates your whole head, feels like they are using jackhammer on the tooth. When he used that tool, even with anestesia I could feel some pain. Okay, he was done, I went home, and after the anestesia I didn't' feel any pain until a month goes by. One day I was eating my breakfast and when I bit on that side, I felt this really sensitive kind of pain on the bite. I called the office and they asked me to go back to adjust the high on the filling. However, I could tell was not the hight that was the problem, I have had many work done on my teeth and this never happened before, it never hurt because of high filling. So I went back and he filed down the filling and at the moment when he was done, it was okay to just close the bite without pain. After that I was without bitting on that side for one week, then when I tried to eat on that side again, still hurts. When you mentioned about the glue being the problem, it makes a lot of sense in this case because that's what I was trying to understand why it only hurts when I bite? Only pressure makes it hurt, and I even thought the filling he put there came loose or something and when I bite, it presses down to the root causing pain. I think in this case after watching your explanations, I believe it is the glue. In this case, what is the best approach? Do I need a canal for this tooth? Or just look for another dentist to redo the work?

Dr. Ellie, would you consider a video with recommendations for those of us who already have an implant? TBH, I don't have an implant yet but I just had molar #18 extracted because of a failed 16-year-old root canal (done by an endodontist). In recent years I developed an abscess beneath #18 that did not grow until a few weeks ago. Thus, the tooth was extracted, the abscess cleaned, and a bone graft placed. I intend to get an implant there in order to keep my bite healthy. BTW, I found your videos last November and began implementing your system immediately. At my cleaning a month ago all my pockets were improved -- yay! I had hoped that your protocol could somehow reach and heal the abscess, but it couldn't. Anyhow, could you directly address care for an implanted tooth to those of us who are getting one or already have one?
