@@station08 I got their dana 489 axles the rear 35 spline and the front 489. Mine were close to 11k with upgrades. I run 37s and I'm not too worried about breaking anything they are incredibly strong axles in a small package. I got ox lockers front and rear and I got the rear set 20 upgrade with disc brakes that's where they weld larger ends on the tubes to use larger bearings then the front and rear axle tubes are incredibly thick like 3/8 or 1/2 thick. My rig is set up for a mix of overland and hard trails I've tried to be careful about weight but I'm right around 5100 pounds with all my accessories and cage/armor frame stiffeners etc..

I used a 78 Ford Dana 60 'sno fighter' in my FSJ Cherokee. The perches for the leaf springs had the same location as the stock Jeep, except they are on top so it was an easy way to get 6" of front lift. High pinion and king pins. Added a locker and some yukon hubs. The stock brakes are not great, they could use an upgrade. It works and is cheaper than the crate axles. Although I wish my jeep had the same level of aftermarket support as the JK/JL''s and the rest of the Wranglers!

Good info & video... But... for jeepers like me who are on the tightest of budgets (as my KZbin name implies,I'm a traveling witnesser) so I'm only be able to do reclaim upgrades on my TJ...most of the axles you all have talked about cost more than my whole build & that's with the cage, rooftop tent, camping gear/heater/fridge,ect... and I've wheel'd with jeeps like the ones you show at ORPs in Mo,Tn & Ark and do just fine... Don't get me wrong...if one has money to throw around, by all means, go ahead and do them but for me I look at wheel'n much like I look at life... it's not what one has in their possession that matters but instead it's what one holds in their heart... I have a Tera44 with 1/2” 3.25” tubes with Revolution US forged shafts in the front right now with 37’s and only ever had a rear twisted bent Revolution shaft in the rear on my rear 44. silly to use eaton e-lockers they unlock and re-lock when changing directions and aren't as strong as arb air lockers. you failed to mention the 9" has a 3" lower pinion position which means the driveshaft angle is worse and the driveshaft/yoke/pinion are down in the rocks.
