I visited Egypt 12 years ago and the scammers are horrible. They wont leave anyone alone that are a foreigner. It was one of the worst places for me to visit.

Don't give money to beggars. You are not helping them. There are charities for the poor if you want to donate. You are only putting money in the pockets of the adults these kids work for. Even food purchased for them gets sold back to the store for the money.

I hope I will visit Egypt at least once before I die and when I do I will smile and say no thanks and then completely ignore these solicitors and scammers. I won't engage with them at all as I've seen this is the best way to get them to leave you alone. No way I will let them ruin my trip by them constantly following me and talking to me. I want peace and to be left alone when I'm there, to walk around and take my time. All the scams really hurt the legitimate businessmen who have set up shop there and never see any actual costomer tourists because the scammers have already made sure they never even go that way. the man at the very beginning was either a legitimate guide who was extremely pushy or he was a scammer posing as a guide.

@@jdog4usmc1 Definitely worth it a dream come true. We stayed in hurgada took a flight to cairo for the day and visit the pyramids and the museum of cairo. Was able to see alot of the city by uber since everything is so far apart. Tip is to always use uber there where times we took a taxi but then at arrival they change prices. Back at hurgada we took a bus day trip to luxor to the falley of the kings, the temple, stairs and museum. Wish we had more time there tho🙏🏻

Just take it in as part of the whole experience, don't feel obligated to answer everyone trying to sell you something or asking for money, just politely decline and keep walking. You'll often run into kids like that girl, so if you do need something try and buy from them, they are out of school and have no option other than to work (the cost of goods is very cheap when you convert dollars to local currency). Egypt is the most historical place on earth and a great country to visit.

I am watching a playlist of these scammer videos and the lowest price one dude got offered 1h of a horse ride for 20 EGP! Normal price is 50 for 1h. I've watched like a dozen videos of that on youtube and all have the same experience. Yes I do understand the people want to make a living and are hustling but so are the people in other parts of the world at tourist sites but Egypt is the worst

I think wealthy people sometimes are a bit obsessed about "getting ripped-off". How about European museums and such? So expensive!! So what if you pay more than the "going rate"? It's. Still. Cheap.

You should only go there in an organized manner. Group travel. So that all the tourists are together and you have a guide from Europe. I would also like to do it all myself, but when I see this, I lose the desire to do so.
