Avoid some of the common pyramid tourist scams you'll surely encounter here in Egypt. The main ones being overpaying for camel rides, being followed around and harassed by guides, etc. Just make sure to negotiate the price and the amount of time before everything else, and you'll be fine.

I truly would like to believe the owners or caretakers of the camels looks after them. But seeing lots of videos about camel ride around the pyramids it's literally breaks my heart. @@jdog4usmc1 Definitely worth it a dream come true. We stayed in hurgada took a flight to cairo for the day and visit the pyramids and the museum of cairo. Was able to see alot of the city by uber since everything is so far apart. Tip is to always use uber there where times we took a taxi but then at arrival they change prices. Back at hurgada we took a bus day trip to luxor to the falley of the kings, the temple, stairs and museum. Wish we had more time there tho🙏🏻

these scammers at the plateau try their best to make it look to onlookers that he is your guide and that you approve of what he is doing. if you did a 180 degree turn and walked the other direction he is walking or stopped and raised your hands to signal that you are being bothered against your will then you will see him running away from you!.....the deal these scammers have with the tourist police is that they can negotiate with tourists but only on friendly terms, so many of them will laugh out loud to signal a friendly conversation when in fact he is trying to scam you.

Just take it in as part of the whole experience, don't feel obligated to answer everyone trying to sell you something or asking for money, just politely decline and keep walking. You'll often run into kids like that girl, so if you do need something try and buy from them, they are out of school and have no option other than to work (the cost of goods is very cheap when you convert dollars to local currency). Egypt is the most historical place on earth and a great country to visit.
