UPDATE!!!!! I have had a few comments saying you CAN get thin reverse d60 gears above 4.56 and I WAS able to find a few in 5.38 ratio, but I still cant find any in 5.13. So I'm kind of right, and kind of wrong in this video.

I run a thin cut gear in my hp d60 5.38 spooled. Sierra gear and axle in Sacramento sold it to me been running it for 6months

Well I guess it’s too late for me to give them a call. I spent hours looking on the Internet and couldn’t find anyone selling thin cut above 410, I spoke with a buddy who is a gearing expert and he told me nobody makes them.

I found a couple 5.38 thin reverse sets but no 5.13 sets anywhere. Ive had a few people tell me they do exist but I still cant find.

Its all in how you word it.Type in "dana 60 reverse thin 5.38" lots of places carry them in different brands.

I did that and everything was saying thick but then again I was only clicking on trusted sources and vendors I know(for the ones that didn’t specify in the search result). If so many people have them why would somewhere like ecgs not carry them? Oh well. Also strange since my local gear guy even told me they don’t make them and at that point I stopped looking.

Well they are available if you want to keep that OX is all I was saying.But if uou google what I said you can find plenty.

I think I did see a thin reverse 5.38 but not a 5.13

When I build the D44 for my TJ I found out that there are several different pinion shoulder diameters and the first set I picked up was the small diameter version so it didn't work...

I bought a 14 bolt carrier used and got burned with a 4.56 that was advertised as a 4.10. I was only out 100 bucks though.

Dana 60 carrier is a dana 60 carrier. Only difference is high and low speed. Meaning carrier break. There are standard and reverse cut gears obviously

@@bwhartman1 well yeah the carrier is the same. the problem lies when nobody makes the thin or standard gears above a certain ratio which makes the 456 and up carrier useless for a high pinion 60

Yeah I don’t know. it was an honest mistake but it’s been over a year that I’ve had it and it’s kind of a long story how I even got that locker, they said I could possibly return it with a restocking fee if I had the invoice but I don’t. Cause I wasn’t the one who purchased

@@MegaMarclar I haven’t wheeled since October when I went to the Badlands. My 4 x 4 club has had a couple local runs already this spring but I haven’t really dug the Jeep out yet and I don’t plan on it until this axle is in it.

Hey man Love the content just had a question, do you think i could run 37's reliably with a ultimate dana 44 front and a dana 60 rear? I do pretty difficult trails but nothing too crazy. thanks

Probably be fine if you run Cromoly shafts but if you’re running a locker and get all bound up it’s still not super hard to break a shaft. The only reason I never broke one with this combo is because I have the limited slip front end. I’ve seen people run 37s on a Dana 30 and get by for moderate wheeling

@@_Vexzz rCV’s are super strong but they do have some downside so if you don’t know much about them you should look into it before making that commitment because they are very expensive and kind of difficult to work around. It’s what I’m gonna be running in my 60 though
