I'm glad I happened upon this video. The joys of Amazon!

Im gonna try to get the right pipe. Just bought house all new plumbing. Notice leak after first long shower paint bubbled. Been using everything to try to seal the pipe from leaking. Like you showed only screwed in quarter of the way. Been going nuts and buying every sealing thing I can find. And this is probably the issue. Thanks

Well shoot… wish I watched this before… first I had to chisel out sunset that was 2 inches deep and completely in casing the shower arm, then once I got everything cleaned out, I’ve spent way too much time trying to figure out why those darn threads aren’t going in and popping off when I turn it too much… eh china & Amazon expectations 😑- shoulda went to Home Depot/Ace/Lowe’s

This is exactly the same problem I am having with my KOEHLER PURIST shower head.. NOTHING fits... I cannot find a shower arm in existence that fits.. It claims to be 1/2" NPT but it isn't..

That is a great example

The shower arms in Home Depot are all 1/2 in. IPS connections. Is IPS good?

Hi there! Just to clarify, 1/2" IPS and 1/2" NPT both refer to the same pipe size. IPS indicates the diameter standard, while NPT specifies the thread type. So, shower arms labeled 1/2" IPS will still use 1/2" NPT threads, making them compatible with standard plumbing systems. Hope that helps!

I made this mistake as well. Bought a 1/2” npt tap and will try and rethread. I’m an idiot

It's alright, so did i😂.

I don't think you can just rethread it. It will probably leak because the threads will never fit correctly. I am curious though
