(Agrigate is often hard to come buy and then you have to pay a lot for it) My family we were lucky many years ago doing a very similar job, a school about 5 miles away was digging a swimming pool and the spoil trucks had to come past our site to get to the payable dump site so they stopped and offered all of their spoil to us, and did the whole fill for free!

Doing that allows the water to evaporate quicker...it spreads the water over 40/50 sq metres rather than a small 500mm pool

Why not let the truck drive all the way to the edge and unload, then it all comes down into that excavation?? But it's probably over, they don't think before they start right .🤔🤔

They should leave the trench as it is, build a big drain lead the rainwater to the open sea. The road will be flooded without drain system and affect all the houses.
