I've been grinding rep for fleet modules to get the Fleet Excelsior (would be my first T6). Will definitely be spending a little time in Q's Winterland to get the Tamarian first.

I'm glad these latest event ships are at least better than a lot of the old $30 ships, but there's no longer any justification for them to not have a proper full spec with how powerful the more recent $30 ships have gotten. Specifically the Terran ships.

It sounds plausible at first, but when you think about the power creep, it doesn't really matter, there are guys breezing trough hard content in a Malor cruiser for lolz, basically every T5U (especially if X2) can be built in a way that you clap everything in game, only the DPS chasers are more picky about seating, but if you dont belong to that 1%, than this and almost every other C store ship is more than powerful enough, especially at X2 with isomags and all the legendary ships floating around that give you a bunch of old premium traits & consoles.

Event ships cost $42 when on sale at 75% off and you have to wait 2+ years to pay that price if you miss the event. There is no excuse for them to be weaker than $30 ships. They are valued higher and more exclusive.

@@tenalpoen dont miss the event then, they are free + they give more then enough time if you cant do the daily every day + you can do an even buyout until the end of the year in lobi if you are missing a few points/days to unlock. As i said, all c store, event ships and most lobi/lockbox ships perform very similar if you dont put on them 200-500$ worth of: lobi gear, traits from other ships you have to buy, personal traits and boffs you have to buy with billions of EC (selling keys and R&D packs or gambling) & equipment/weapons that are also mostly from ships you have to buy. Only then you will see a drastic difference between event ships, c store, legendary, fleet, lobi and promo for the 1% who really push every build to the limit. For everybody else its no difference, i can do 60k on pretty much every ship in game with mostly mission reward gear, even if i do 100k the game does not change for me, the next treshold is at around 1mil, so if you cant do that than do what you want, fly what you want it doesn't matter as long as you are not under 40-50k, because that is the treshold of being useful in advanced content. So enjoy the ship, do the daily and dont buy it Mudds.

THe ship looks like a typical 5 3 loadout for an event ship I hope its legendary one for tier 6 update, its a cruiser so more shields so it can be a support tank.

Its underpowered o.k for a freebe nothing special as all event ships, Not worth the grind and certainly not worth opening gamble boxes to unlock early. And Lobi a buyout just looks like a scam to rinse the player base at xmas because they know everybody will be fed up with the same old event within a couple of days and are more likely to want to buy it out!

Was hoping the console was ok atleast, but its free an i can give one of my new toons this thing, i have a ton of gear an traits like i am sure everyone does lol. Maybe we get a different bridge etc, but im sure its exactly like the one that was the enterprise equal from Next Generation.

It's a solid ship for new players who don't have many T6 alternatives and gear yet. Allows them to build a functional torp or Beam Overload tank that can be useful in all content. The console and trait seem to synergize well and can be quite powerful, since the console is practically an AOE shield offline and debuff, while the trait debuffs the target even further (final stats remain to be seen though). A perfect setup for well timed torpedo spreads, like with the new Trilithium Maelstrom torp. Combine that with an initial tractor beam with Carrier Wave Shield Hacking trait, and you should be able to severely cripple and debuff even the strongest enemies in the game for the entire team, while dealing some good damage yourself. Combine with a solid Gravity Well 3 of a science ship for even greater effect. Also the event ships are anything but underpowered. A well built Cnidarian Defender can be a ridiculously powerful AOE DPS dealer with north of 1 mil DPS in the right circumstances. The Fek'lhri Byr'Jai interceptor is a nasty little raider and anomaly spammer glass cannon (that's also fun to fly thanks to its speed and maneuverability), made all the more potent with a disruptor CSV build and the console and trait from the Hysperian battlecruiser, which both also greatly buff the electrical damage output of the Cnidarian, as well as the fire damage abilities of all the other Fek'lhri ships. The Compiler Science Dreadnought is an all around very solid ship that can be built quite tough and powerful as an EPG platform. The Jarok Alliance Carrier is a decent (and good looking) support carrier with great pets and one of the best universal consoles for carriers. Console and trait from the Tamarian ship would probably synergize pretty well on it with an EPG/torp build. I could go on, but especially the event ships of the past few years are all very solid offerings that each have lots of value for free players. And even paying players might regret missing out on some of these ships for what they offer for certain builds, as many of their components can even be meta. Like the Soliton Impeller experimental weapon off the older Risian ship.

@@axelhopfinger533 Yer it would be fine if it wasn't a Lobi buyout so people who have done this since the start don't have to do it again, this is just a scummy tactic at Xmas to drive people into gamble boxes just to buy out the event becasue they are fed up with the same content and lack of any effort into giving us anything new, except for more gamble box ships at xmas!
