On the half used boxes and or bags of pasta in my pantry...YES!! And I love it when you want to throw just a bit of pasta into a soup, for example. Also, every time I open up a new bag of frozen vegetables, I always leave about 1/4 cup in the bag and toss it back in the freezer. When making a vegetable soup you now can add just the right amount of peas, corn, green beans, Lima beans, broccoli, pearl onions or whatever you like.
@gretchenramsey99184 ай бұрын
I also love mushrooms…. I often cook mine in a dry pan to slightly brown the mushrooms then add small amount of olive oil and butter. When well incorporated I add finely chopped garlic cooking for about 30 seconds. Then add a few dashes of Marsala wine to taste. To finish I add an additional a tablespoon of butter to finish. And if you want to take it over the top add heavy cream to taste before serving over your rice or noodles.

I used to have many opened boxes of pasta in my pantry. One time in cleaning and organizing my pantry, I transferred all those half empty boxes into my empty Tupperware cereal keepers. I have a lot of them from when my kids were little, but they’re grown and gone from home now, and my hubs and I don’t eat cereal. Now I have my four favorite pasta shapes that I always use, stored in cereal keepers, and it keeps my pantry neater and also helps me keep track of when I need to buy more of any particular one. Of course, there’s lot’s of different clear air tight containers that can be used now, and it’s a good idea too! Keeps the bugs out! Those tacos look delicious! Gotta try them! I love Butcherbox too, been getting it for probably 4-5 years. Their customer service is excellent too! I’ve only needed them once or twice, but they are super responsive and accommodating. Great video, Mandy!❤

I always keep bags of frozen, chopped green peppers and frozen, chopped onions (found in freezer section of my grocery store) in my freezer as backups just for instances like you had where my pepper or onion isn’t in good shape, or if I find I don’t even have one for my recipe.
@judyp44214 ай бұрын
I do that too. I’ve heard you can freeze your own but never have.
@MamaTata864 ай бұрын
@judyp4421 I freeze them from my garden just for this instance. Wash them well and chop / dice / mince whatever you like and put them in an even layer in a reusable freezer bag, and freeze. I do onions, green / red / yellow / orange / jalapeño peppers, etc. It's super easy. You can freeze grocery store produce as well. 😊

Nice to see a couple who clearly love and support each other. Also, I'm glad that the meat you consume comes from healthy, grass fed and well cared for animals. If it's more expensive than regular, store bought meat and ends up reducing the amount of meat you can afford... well that's okay, on balance, as eating less but healthier meat is also a good thing.

Pork ribs in the crock pot are my go to! I always use a dry rub, stand the ribs on end around the edges of the pot. No liquids, they release a lot on their own. Early batches I layered flat and became very greasy from sitting in the juices.

I kinda agree with Steven about the water in the crock pot. Ribs do fine cooked low and slow in a bbq..even in the oven. Lots of natural moisture in the ribs..condensation on lid will drip down. So to compromise, because Mandy is my Guru…I’m going to use 1/4 C water …unless someone can explain why it needs water at all! LOVE YOU!🧀

I love Butcher Box! I tried another meat delivery and was disappointed! So back to Butcher Box! FYI the reason for salt on the cabbage is to soften it and for no other reason.
