That's what was the best thing about my buddy's pro shop that I used to help out a lot. We wouldn't drill a ball Tell we saw you throw the ball and Even sometimes The ball that the guy or lady wanted know it was too weak or too strong We would pick a A better ball And the funniest part was Most times it wouldn't be that expensive ball Originally they wanted What's top of the line over 200 in a box We lost a lot of money but the customer was always very happy And they would always bowl at least ten to 20 pins higher I miss him so much rick wagner rip 😢❤❤❤❤

All my new equipment has been drilled off of my PAP. In the 2010's (Most tournament wins occurred then oddly enough) I had no clue what my PAP was and didn't care one bit about layouts. Black widow series/vibes were all I threw back then. Best reacting balls I've ever thrown.

I agree....somewhat. I bowled with someone elses ball, and it moved the exact way I wanted. I wanted MY new ball drilled just like his. My PSO instead drilled it according to MY PAP and it changed the parameters of the ball motion. I had another drilled, but this time to his layout, but my pitches and span and it worked the way I wanted. The same thing happens on DEMO days. I find what I want but when I get a new ball drilled, it is different than what I threw.

It's your money... you should get the layout that you ask for. If your PSO refuses to do that, then it's time to find another one. Also doesn't hurt to know your PAP numbers, buy a pro sect, and learn how to reverse-engineer the layout so you'll know if your PSO actually gave you what asked for. It's not hard to do, there are a ton of videos detailing exactly how to go about it.

@notonyourlife7939 I do that all the time...drawing out my layouts. I move every 3 months, so I see many different pro shops, and 3/4 of them are terrible. I'll ask for certain pitches and many just want me to change my bowling style to match what they are willing to do.

I would like you to show more about taping the thumb holes!
@StephRenee8123 ай бұрын
Same. When i use tape in ball I stick and get stuck I tried tape on thunb thats makes it mkre stick
@Swamprowdy3 ай бұрын
@@StephRenee812tape too wide or too close to top of thumbhole will cause sticking. Too low and it won't do much. Also learning to layer tape will make adjustments easier due to temp or humidity. Tape in the wrong place in relation to the flat spot of your thumb will cause problems too. There's more to tape than just assuming you slap a piece anywhere in the thumbhole and it will work.

I'm not new to bowling but I was away from it for a long time and have only come back to it since the summer. You talked about oval thumb holes but what about the interchangeable thumb holes I see some people using, are they considered ovals?
@uncatoddly3 ай бұрын
Ovals are simply the shape of the your individual thumb. It doesn't matter if your thumb is an interchangeable or not, it is simply the shape the hole is drilled.

As a general rule, if you are rev dominant, you want pin up? I would assume yes

Question: If matte finish balls lane shine up to around a 4500 gritt finish, do polished surface balls lane sand down to a 4500 grit finish? If so, does it take longer than laneshine? Also, any fix other than a full resurfacing? Thanks

To get a PAP you would first have to throw a ball that wasn’t drilled using your PAP which might change depending on a different ball’s layout

I'm hoping to be able to come up Tuesday for you to check my fit and possibly make some changes if necessarily if that's ok.

If they look at your track and give you a standard type layout isn't that close enough for a less then 200 average bowler? Isn't release 70% of ball motion if your ball is even remotely drilled right?
@batl_born7023 ай бұрын
At the very least, bring one of your balls in with you. They can pull your PAP off of it if they’re not able to have you throw a few shots. You should also have your PAP re-measured periodically. It can move over time, especially as you learn to bowl better.
