VERY Interesting!! As a Woodland Mills HM130max owner I absolutely love their product! And as you said their customer service is impeccable! Awesome video! Thank you for this!

Those welded stops on the MechMaxx is a good idea. I might be adding them to my Woodland Mills. If the bunks are interchangeable than move them around so at least the first bunk has the stop. You could also put the greens bunks at the end as most logs won’t be 16’.

Good ideas! I think that’s worth doing.

As a Woodland Mills owner, I have been extremely satisfied with our HM-126 sawmill. I do think that a lot, maybe most, of the products we purchase from offshore companies do share components and engineering. I haven't seen the Mechmaxx sawmill up close and personal, but from your video it looks as though the sawhead frame components might be a little lighter duty on the Mechmaxx. Like you said, there needs to be differences here and there to help offset the cost variance. But the biggest one by far, to me anyway, is the engine that powers the mill. I can run 5 miles down the road to my local Kohler dealer, and pick up what I need, even to the point of getting warranty repair. That's a pretty substantial difference right there, vs. some of the "clone" powerplants.

Totally agree. The good news is Mechmaxx has switched over and is putting Kohler engines on their new mills. Thanks for watching! Happy milling!

Lucas: good honest appraisal of both products. I was wondering when you were going to get the extension. Nice point about the height of the bars that stop the log from rolling off the mill. Thanks again for your input. Take care and stay safe.

As a Canadian who purchased a Woodland Mills WC46 Chipper, I can say that Woodland Mills offers excellent customer service and customer support. If my WC46 needs a part, my downtime will be as short as possible. My only issue with Woodland Mills was that they shipped and delivered my chipper quicker than I imagined. I really was not ready to receive the product so quickly. They are faster than Amazon when it comes to getting something out the door and on a truck. Great video - It will be interesting to see what you think of the different styles of log dogs. Have a safe day cutting.

Mine arrives tomorrow. I didn't see the discount until after. 🤷. However, I decided based on the reviews, and what appears to be a quality build. Especially the framing around the motor and cutting heads. It appears as twisting has been pretty much eliminated vs what I've seen from other manufacturers designs. Some only had 2 legs as this one has 4.

Good video on comparison, I did not know parts were interchangeable. Are the parts all from China? Thanks too for showing the various parts and how the stack up sided by side. We have 200 acres, the majority is oak, hickory, a little cherry and the treasured black walnut. My neighbor just bought a sawmill and getting it under cover now I hope to get logs to shortly. I make cutting boards, trivets and other wooden items, besides the normal need for dimensional lumber, from the wood.
@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead4 ай бұрын
Yeah, I think at least the majority of the parts from those brands (and other well know brands) are manufactured in China. I don’t the specifics. I don’t know how many parts are interchangeable, but I thought it would be interesting to start with the main parts and find out. 🤷🏼♂️
