I was hoping to get a sawmill myself. Before these videos I was leaning towards the woodlands Mill. I’m now thinking Mech Max is the way!!
@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead9 ай бұрын
Definitely an affordable option. I’ll be showing it in action more really soon!

Lucas, I am so happy for you! And frankly, you explained the assembly better than the manufacturer. They know who to choose, you just made it easier to get one. Cameron will be happy when he gets a chance to use it with you. Right now, his time is full. Oh, but he will be itching to do it. He seems to enjoy machinery just like you do

First time hearing about this mill maker and I have looked at a bunch of them. Price seems great as a major step up from (dare I say it) Harbor Freight. One thing I was thinking since you lifted the mill head from floor to upright alone, wouldn't it have been easy enough to go ahead and put that on the track before adding all the extra weight? Also maybe add a second water flow valve at the throttle handle for convenience. Looking forward for more on this machine,
@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead8 ай бұрын
Yes, I probably could have tipped it up right into the rails and then rolled it forward and lifted the other side. This was my first assembly so I didn’t think of that. Also, I have a video coming out Thursday where I add an electric switch to the watering system so I can turn it on from the handle while milling. 👍

Like the tip on the oil pan along with the tools in the pan. It is sure doable to do by yourself but another person always helps out. Looks like a good machine. I haven’t really found it an issue to turn a valve to drip when cutting bs the automatic one. Great video!
@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead9 ай бұрын
Yeah with a tractor it is totally doable. It would be tough to set the mill head alone without it.
@oakiewoodsman9 ай бұрын
@@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead my dad and I did it by basically tilting the head back and pulling the rail under it. Then we just kinda pushed it up onto it. Worked out well. Now, my mill is still not setup due to lack of flat ground like I once had. Not a very good idea to try to hanle the who setup on off camber ground with my current setup.

@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead8 ай бұрын
Yeah, they are a China based company. From what I’ve been told, they source parts from the same place Woodland Mills does. I believe that to be true as I have operated both mills and they have a lot of similarities.

Loving all the videos - subscribed! Ordered the SM-26 and 20ft trailer last week. Did you ever figure out a way to torque the t-handle of the blade?

Lot of guys are welding a nut on the handle so they can torque it. I never had any issues just going by feel though.
