I've recently broke free from the negative energy ..that I allowed people to impose on my Sprit and as I Iook back.. I say to myself.. how could you have allowed that ?..Now I'm in the process of forgiving myself..nurturing myself to becoming whole and giving myself the love and encouragement..that I use to give to others..throught this journey..I've discovered..I'm my greatest currency..Peace

Everyone says forgive but no one give workable steps. I pray every night to forgive my relatives for how they’ve treated me and the things they’ve said behind my back. It hasn’t come yet but hopefully it will because I need peace.

I’m going through the same with my mom and sister. This video gave me a lot to think about. Is it possible to forgive folks and still not want to be around them? It’s the emotional immaturity and verbal abuse that I can’t stand to be around anymore.

Being forced to do it now bc “God says we should” and while I know that’s true I know that God is graceful enough to know it takes time and my personal timetable doesn’t look anything like the next persons. I always felt like we struggle with forgiveness because usually the person that harmed us has not REPENTED, or even shown the bare minimum. We can forbear but I don’t think you can truly forgive without that person without them showing true repentance and sorrow for what they have done. At least the relationship can never be restored fully but that’s my opinion. I have some festering within with some people and mistrust.

Thank you Lisa, I loved the way you broke forgiveness done to reality. Growing up you were told the importance of forgiveness and felt it should be a right now thing even when your heart didn’t align. I believe we should all make an effort to work on it but even God knows it’s a process. I’m on a healing journey and I believe healing is a lifestyle event. Especially due to the ugliness we can meet in our everyday lives. Thank you for clarity. Understanding that God will forgive us for ANYTHING. But there is one exception and that is we: Have to forgive others. We can’t accept forgiveness and not be willing to forgive.

What I understand is to apply the energy is more draining than to heal and move along. It take work to remain in the trauma as well. We need some tools to make us say I don’t have to sit in this anger or pain … hope this makes since. Oh and you will need to cut off the root of the problem unless you remain in the situation and play your part

My mother recently visited and we had a discussion about forgiviness and "holding grudges" she was referring to an individual we know that doesn't speak to another party because of a conflict that arose, my mother felt this person should forgive and not hold a grudge and I agreed with her while forgivness is important its for the person who was offended not the offending party. Forgiveness does not mean we go back to the way things used to be, because thats not possible, there are consequences for actions and words we say.

Been abused all my life, was involved with. A Christian community, they always ptessured me to forgive my abusers/rapist etc immediately. They imoosed so many harsh rules, shaked their head at me if i didnt abide, forced me to drop everything and isolate myself from anyone who was not Christian. It was extremely toxic and stressful, caused my mental health to decline.

You're a beautiful woman of spirit, mind & soul. Keep holding on to your peace for sustainability. I'm still musing on your teachings of self love. As long as we do it together as people. Yes, Love God... then secondly love self... in order to love others. Forgive them Father for they know not what they do. Forgiveness is clean moral, only but under sincere acknowledgement from those who ask forgiveness. As too, I ask Lisa, to forgive me for once debating her sincere sharing of "self love." Understanding each other keeps peace to dwell among us.

I wish this was around 2 months ago to show my lovely partner of 23 years. She was so sweet but internally lost and broken. She was aggressively raped for years as a child and left confused and the only person who showed her love was her father who died when she was 13 . We have been together since she was 17 and I have loved her and been by her side since but even though we were extremely cuddly and loving when we were together (which was a lot of the time ) she was easily distracted by people when she was out in the world and attracted to the wrong people. This led to her taking drugs and alcohol to soothe her depression but it came at a high cost which led to a repeat of her younger self reliving her sexual abuse conditioning. This has been destroying me over the years and a brain injury I received from an accident didn’t help my ability to help. I spent alot of time and emotional energy trying to help her through and although she loved my voice and touch she was so lost and also hated herself from what she had done to me out of her pain and addictions so eventually she took her life while being trapped inside an alcoholic depression. I am so lost right now and wanted to die to be with her (which she was aware of my devotion and love). Being so attached for so long as we spent nearly all of our time together and I couldn’t ever imagine being without her or with anyone else . I can’t go out in public because it makes no sense to me and seems empty and uncomfortable. I have lost a huge part of my life and myself and feel I failed her. She had become so good at deception and hiding her medication and alcohol that she was in the bedroom 10 feet away from me in the lounge room when she passed away. I tried to resuscitate her but it wasn’t enough. Damaged children become broken adults just struggling to survive and to find a reason for living? Even when being loved deeply and daily its like filling up a bucket with a hole in it and watching the love drain away. I’m to lost to know what to say so I will stop . ❤

@@SeasonedDialogue Hi🤗 I’m asking if the counsel applies to emotional abuse. There’s so much therapy and inner work to be done when you grew up in a toxic/demeaning environment. It almost feels like you’ve been “violated” or deprived of your innocence, goodness and almost driven to madness. Recovering from that takes time and effort to unlearn certain things. You also have to reparent yourself but in the process there’s so much anger and resentment involved… it’s overwhelming.

I absolutely understand. Forgiving someone doesn't mean you condone or approve of their actions. Instead, it means you choose to release feelings of anger and resentment, freeing yourself from the burden of holding onto negative emotions. Forgiveness is about accepting what happened and moving forward without letting the past dictate your present or future. It's a way to prioritize your own well-being and emotional healing, rather than allowing bitterness to consume you. I hope this helps love ❤️

Forgiveness doesn’t mean reconciliation. I can love you from afar and in prayer.

Beautifully said ❤️‍🩹👏🏾 forgiveness is a journey and destination at the same time. The key sustaining the process is patience! Patience for yourself and patience for others! 💕
