0:53 for DST tour. 11:38 for RoG tour. :-) Thanks so much for 10k! I never bring this stuff up because I think it's best to focus on the game, but I always notice and appreciate all of your support and encouragement. Even when people have some criticism, it's usually stated graciously, which is so rare in the land of anonymity where you're free to be a wiener without repercussion; I think it really demonstrates the good nature of my average viewer. It's always a pleasure reading the comments, and for that I'm grateful. I hope you all enjoy the base tours. I actually had something prepared for 10k! If you're curious how I toggle my HUD on and off, I'm using a port of an old single player mod made by Kevin (the lead developer of early Don't Starve). I figured you guys might want to use it too, so I asked permission to publish the port to the workshop. I stuck some links in the description. The set piece mods are also in the description. Since I'm sure some will be curious, I modified the pigman brain and stategraph to get them like they are in the beginning. I won't be making a mod for that. It'd be kinda a weird mod, don't you think? The perpetually happy pigman mod? That's like stepford wives for Don't Starve. :-P P.S. neat tip about KZbin: you can skip videos ahead and behind by single frames with the comma and period keys, so you can catch some details about the worlds during the times that I fastfowarded.

Really?? How could you hate the pig torches? They're so awesome.
@holysword8767 жыл бұрын
Joeshmocoolstuff during the very first time I played don't starve, I came across an area filled with berry bushes. So I decided to set up my science machine, chest, thermal measurer, lightning rod, alchemy machine, 3 farms and both fire pits next to it. I was getting hungry so I went to this batch of berry bushes with a mysterious pig torch in the middle. Then out of nowhere the guardian pig ambushed me for no reason whatsoever behind me so I tried to fight back with my feeble axe but died faster than I could say 'stop'. From then on I always kept away from the pig torches like they were my kryptonite.....
@joeshmocoolstuff7 жыл бұрын
hahah that's awful. I can see why you might find them slightly distasteful. The resources you can get from the pig torches also have interesting properties, I believe. The berry bushes and grass tufts that come with the set piece don't need to be fertilized ever as long as you don't dig them up and replant. So you could have trapped the pig and then harvested berries all you liked. Though I haven't verified this myself. It's just something I heard a while ago, so it may or may not be true.

If your plan is to monetize this channel you need to start doing voice commentary. Explaining what you are doing while playing. Simple fact, most people listen to KZbin videos while playing/doing stuff. They dont sit and watch. For example plenty of people would be playing DS while listening to your explanations in the background. Also if you dont have a Twitch channel you need to get one. Your level of gameplay is better than anything on Twitch for DS or DST and they are getting thousands of views.

Hey Joe I have a suggestion, In your mod "Setpiece Configurations" you are able to set how many reed traps you want, you can't do this with any other setpieces though, only change the probability of different categories of setpieces. I think you should do this with every setpiece, allowing for more specific world generation.

I have a challenge for you: Desert only, cactus only 2 days to prepare to go to the desert after these days are done, all time must be spent finding the desert. When you step in the desert, you cannot leave. This could lead to something bad, as you might want the antlion desert instead of the dragonfly desert. You can only eat cactus. Play as wes. Stay through the seasons: even summer's sandstorms. The goal is to survive the second summer or second winter, depending on what you want to do.
