Hugh Keays-Byrne was and still is my all time favourite Australian actor. His voice, his presence, his charisma and on top of all that, everyone who knew him said he was a lovely man. RIP Hugh, you absolute legend💖💖💖

I'd like to believe that Toecutter somehow survived the crash in the first film and re-emerged years later as Immortan Joe, since they're both played by the same actor.

switchbuckle5th The only inconsistency to this theory is that Toecutter (or at least the dummy used in the scene) lost an arm on impact. We could say that he had it reattached, but Immortan Joe bears no stitch scars on his shoulders. Other than that, the various scars on his body and the need of a breathing apparatus can be consistent with injuries sustained on that crash.

areasevenpro The comic book just released gives the back stories on Nux and Immortan Joe. Joe was a military colonel who raised an army during the "oil wars" and conquered the citadel by force. No relation to the Toecutter whatsoever, and his use of the breathing apparatus is due to the injuries he sustains during conquering the citadel.

There was a guy talking during the movie when I saw it, saying stupid little comments like when someone fell off a car, he said "Someone's having a bad day" and I told him to shut the fuck up. Pretty sure everyone in the cinema heard me, so it's nice to know Immortan Joe himself would've been proud. The movie is so amazing I was still able to get back into it and enjoy it all.
