It is really interesting topic. I guess "Ohayou gozaimasu" is good phrase for a foreigner because, as you said, it is relatively easy to pronounce. Moreover, when Japanese here this phrase from a foreigner, we think they try to accommodate Japanese communication style, then it leads Japanese to become to more close the foreigner. However, I think there is a more convenient greeting phrase in Japan, I guess it is popped up later video. I look forward to seeing next video.
