Let me explain, so the thesis of the video was basically to argue that shaming people who buy game cosmetics is not fair. Little did I know, even while making the video, my ego made me not realize that I did the exact same thing on opposite side of the spectrum, and that’s shame people who didn’t buy game cosmetics. That was tone-deaf, privileged, unfair, and I understand how people maybe frustrated with this take, especially if they’ve always wanted these skins but didn’t have the money to get them. To me, it depends on what the cosmetic is, and more importantly how much it is. Back in the EARLY days of cod, we had the personalization packs for only $2. Those were very much worth it, especially when the universal camo in them was actually good, like 115.

Idk, this kinda of mentality is a big reason the gaming industry is in such a shit state, no one bothered to evaluate whether what they were buying was worth it or acted on demands to do better. I mean Fortnite, as big and fun as it is, has done irreversible damage to the industry with battle passes, cosmetics, live service, all that shit that is so widely hated. So when they start to push a big new thing (the shoes), that are just a glorified advertisement that jingles keys to make us open wallets, I feel its very fair to push back on it, especially with the way companies treat other games success. I can already see the shoes selling or doing really well, and all other companies will see is that they can sell advertisements to us and we will just pay for it. This is how we got battle passes loaded everywhere, this is how we get under developed yearly launches, this is how we got microtransaction filled shit shows, and its very fair to push back on shoe pngs being sold because we don't want that to plague every game.

I'd argue this would be a nice addition to customization in Fortnite. The only time we can customize in Fortnite is the instruments, cars, suvs, and gun wraps.
