When running on the track I always use the run activity with auto-lap turned off and manually lap. Tracks typically have distances clearly marked where I am, so you know that every quarter (100m) needs to be done after 24 seconds. If you have lap-time on your screen you will see if your pace is wrong very easily.

That’s what I did for this last 400 workout. I noticed a clear difference from what Garmin was telling me my 400 splits were with the auto lap or a programmed workout. I’ll from now on be manually lapping my track workouts. Appreciate you tapping in and chiming in 👊🏾

Next year with your kids is going to be epic indeed! Did you feel like you had more gas in the tank at the end?
@RunJLC3 ай бұрын
Yap I can’t wait for that lol! I had very little gas in the tank honestly. Even if I did stay with the pacer, running that fast with the humidity that nite would’ve been really tough.

Was it a regular Run or a Track activity on the Garmin? The track activity has always been within 5 meters of true distance on a 400m track in my experience…

For me its typically off by around 3% on the track

I have the forerunner 230 and there’s no track activity option unfortunately. What watch do you have if you don’t me asking?
@cr92653 ай бұрын
I have a Fenix 7S Pro (it's a sweet watch, but I can't justify the cost...it was a gift to myself after a couple months hospitalized). Garmin has a list of watches that support track mode on their website. Training with the watch is definitely helpful, but I perform better racing off feel and putting trust in the training.

@@cr9265I think I’d rather get used to running by feel as well. Seems like the safer way to go. Appreciate you tapping in and chiming in 👊🏾
