He subconciously tries to hype himself up by trying to be "different". If the fact that he's different is the reason you think he's dope, then that means that he succeeded on trying to be different, and he gained your attention by doing so.

you can tell that he really believes what he's saying. And there's nothing wrong with that. I think a lot of people have these thoughts, but just don't share them. however, there is no reason to believe that he's some "special case" and that he is the only one who chooses to speak up about his thoughts. He's obviously doing it for a reason. Wether it's coucious to him or not. It's to be recognized, get more attention, and all in all, sell more records. It sounds negative, but it's completely normal. I think even he would agree that if it wasn't for him preaching about him thinking differently than other "rappers", then he wouldn't be as famous.
