Thank you ever so much, Mary Trump. For following your instinct that you had to write the book (which I think everyone should read, to gain a better understanding of the wounded psyche ruining this country) and thank you for your Skavlan interview, and being such a gracious guest. I come from Norwegian grandparents and lived in Sweden 4 years as an adult student, returning to college in my 50's. Thank you Skavlan, for the program. I'm with Mary in saying (and seriously, thinking) "Can I move there if we lose the election?" I can't help but think, it will be the end of usa, if we let this sadistic incompetent scared monster stay in power. Mary, you are such a great writer, as hard as it was to read some of the sad parts of your story, I still hated it when the book ended. It is truly one of THE best books I've ever read. Maya Angelou's "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings" had an unforgettable impact on me, and I read it when it came out! So your book is right up there, next to hers. Thank you. I wish I could find you more often, speaking. Anything online with your name, I immediately click on. Tusen tack!!!! Elizabeth

You allowed her to dominate the conversation at the expense of your other invited guests; you operated from a personal bias, demonstrated by a total unwillingness to call her out on any claims she made; and you were condescending of him and flattering of her because your Scandanavian taste favors her austere surroundings to his gold flourishes. The best part of the show was the news anchor who was gentle in his prodding but from whom you ought to have taken your cue. Unchecked biases make for awful interviews- like this one.

@@SkavlanTV Thanks for correcting me on that. I heard you say you'd kept her long enough and assumed she ran off and thus the show was over. I was bummed to not hear any mention of the Draconian lockdown especially in light of you three sitting maskless together. Unless that was some visual wizardry. Here in L.A. we are still being threatened to have our power turned-off if we have more than 6 gyests who are not related. Meanwhile her elderly and overweight uncle she despises so got over it, as did his wife and staff members more easily than a cold. Whilst I don't like gotcha interviews, I do wish Jordan Peterson had been there. 😂 Thanks for being such a good sport. I can be a mouthy broad.

In this case, our host and Noomi Rapace were in Oslo (in a safe distance from each other), while Claes Elfsberg was in Stockholm in an identical studio. Try being half Hispanic and White and looking predominantly white while raising a black child in Texas. My 4 year old child and I were surrounded and approached by police and humiliated in a local grocery store because someone had called them saying that I kidnapped my child because I was white and the child was black. The police in the store when looking for me asked customers if they had seen a white woman with a black child. They took my child aside and started asking her questions than started asking me questions of where I was from and why I was in that particular Texas town. I was in that Texas town because my grandparents were some of the first Hispanic families who settled there in the 1920’s. Yet people are afraid if Joe Biden wins we’re going to all turn into communists. My experience was a much more communistic type of experience and it happened during Trump’s term in office. These Trump supporters are sick. They think it’s ok to frighten and humiliate a woman and her young child in a grocery store because of their differences in skin color, but wearing a mask to protect the sick or vulnerable during a world wide pandemic is a government overreach taking away their rights. That’s the insanity of the right wing. Interesting that the one guy brought up the only state he was familiar with which was North Dakota and the Dakotas are seeing record highs not too long after the Trump rallies and the Sturges SD bike parties which are predominantly Trump supporters. ND is just over 5 hrs from SD. So not surprised they are seeing cases grow exponentially in those areas. Trump leaves a trail of devastation wherever he goes, and still continues to this day!

The funny thing was is that they were grilling me about where I was from and why I was there in that town, when the very spot we were standing in the big grocery store was built on the huge property that my parents sold to that grocery chain years earlier. Racism is a very real in Texas. When I was a child my father was never allowed in my grandmothers house because my father was Hispanic and my step grandfather was German and very racist and would not allow my father to step foot in his house. My father is an entertainer and worked for some of the biggest artists at the time and traveled all over the world with no problems until he went back home to Texas. My daughter lived in San Francisco and loved it and she had no problem, then transferred to Portland which she loves as well. They are much more tolerant of differences in those states. I feel bad for racist because it stems from fear, hate, ignorance, and an unwillingness to accept change.
