i love all the LANDROVER body shapes, a quarter tone and 0ne tone Landrover body would be really nice to see at some point. just a quick thank you for introducing me to the MODELLBAU-REGLER , i ordered the AS12/15RW for my ftx mini Texan and it works a treat, slow crawl is AMAZING and so quiet. thank you 🤝🤝

One thing I have noted is that FMS seems to put out lots of RC vehicles that all use the same components, so I'm not surprised that this shares a lot with the Willys. They do it with the lager ones as well. It's not a bad thing, and makes a lot of sense. I think I'll wait until FMS or FairRC has a sale on them. I got the Willys for 99 bucks a few months back, but it's got fragile bits and I broke some just getting it out of the box. This looks like it has less breakable bits on the outside.

Yes, that is how they produce so many new models. Some of their models are unique, like the 1/12 Jimny which is probably their most scale, most realistic model to date *or is tied with the Kubelwagen and Willys MB in the same scale. The real Land Rover Series 1 or the 1947-48 prototype borrows heavily from the Willy MB and it used the exact same chassis and axles. I don't know about the Series II but it is tiring seeing them use the exact same chassis and running gear and they just scale up/down the body until the borrowed chassis or the wheelbase fits the body. It's easy for them but it produces a model that is not exactly the scale they say it is.

You might have to break out a paintbrush and add some details. These have a bare aluminum strip down the left and right sides from the front doors all the way back, plus the windshield frame is bare/unpainted as is the rear where the tail lights are mounted.

My scale calculator states the FMS Land Rover Series II is 1/13.3 scale. It may not sound like much but that is a lot especially when you have a 6 inch figure. So it is smaller than the other 1/12's. They just scaled up the plastic body (the only thing they had to make new) to fit the Willys MB chassis and the Willys wheels. 🤦🏻‍♂

Do you have the steering angle set to maximum "throw"? On the Willys MB it is adjustable from the transmitter, but this Rover looks like it can only turn enough to change lanes. Really not good...🙁

I hesitated between this Land Rover and the Jimny 1/12. I chose the Jimny : more details and lower price. Maybe later for this Landy... FMS is breaking the rules, in the RC scale world ! 😊

My blue Landy arrives tomorrow. Would love to see thoughts on tweaks and upgrades. I'm planning some cosmetic changes to make mine look like it's been in a barn for 40 years. But was wondering about better scale wheel and tyre options. The tyres on this are from the jeep and CJ45 so not very scale, the ratio of wheel to tyre is not quite right. Any thoughts about swapping the spring and wheels to underslung?

Well they are genuine Willys MB two-piece "combat wheels" with WWII NDT (Non-Directional Tread) tires and are incorrect for the Toyota FJ45 and this Land Rover Series II. I hate it and am "mad as hell" that FMS/Rochobby keeps re-using these wheels and tires because they think it's good enough for a generic steel wheel but they are being lazy. It's a big pass for me unless they add aftermarket wheels and tires (sold separately) to correct this. They go 'all out' on the other details like the Land Rover grille and emblems but skimp on making realistic tires and wheels? Why? Must be more effort and costs involved especially with replicating tire tread designs........

Eigentlich müsstest du ja schon etliche Modelle besitzen... da wäre eine Roomtour oder ähnliches bestimmt mal sehr interessant. Vielleicht machst du ja mal so ein Video... Das Problem ist, dass ich keinen Platz habe um alle aufzustellen. Hab auch schon Einiges wieder abgegeben deshalb (v.a. 1/10er, 1/6 Willys, HG Hummer). Wenn ich mehr Platz hätte, würde ich die alle ins Regal stellen... die 1/12 FMS und RocHobby. So sind die meisten in ihren Koffern...
