I went to high school with this guy Benny! He is the realest They called him B-Real! He blocked Kevin Garnett before! It was great growing up with this guy. He is part of the reason I was a beast at basketball. God bless you and your brothers and family. ✝️🏀

Its very tough out here in the Lil Village community, I myself lost my cousin Miklo at 16 for gang violence, my mom and I was walking by 26th street and damn, guy was running with a gun and ain't nobody stop him 'ause its scary man, it ain't easy, my cousin gone, and so is my dad, he died in Kostner, guy with drugs and alcohol killed him while driving, shits tough, but we gotta stick through it man, I am 11 years old now, 3 years without my cousin and 2 years without my dad.

Set a goal for yourself little brother you will make it out of there eventually. I grew up by 24th and Karlov got out of there when I was 17 and after I left there I started to realize how messed up things where there growing up i wasn't even scared of gun shots i thought it was normal even loosing friends was like normal shit. I got lucky I had some good teachers that guided me through high school and made sure I was doing good outside of school. The best advise I got was do something in life that makes you happy and would do for free if you had to and thats what I did. I'm 39 now and still doing what I picked to do since high school

You guys rock!!! I'm sure it takes a lot out of you both physically and mentally to watch young men get killed needlessly. I grew up in little village, 30th and Lawndale. We moved to Texas in the early 1980s.never got into any gang because my dad once gave me an ass kicking at age 10.I didn't understand at the time but later on I got it. Moving to Texas probably kept me from also joining a gang..Hope you guys continue being a mentor for those young men!!

We are about familia, supporting and loving one another. Support the local. Businesses, support programs for kids, get the kids off the streets and MOTIVATED TO DO BETTER. The gangs WILL ruin our culture, please look out for one another. Breaks my heart when I hear innocent kids being shot. I grew up in back of the yards- my papi lived by 26th street. Southwest side 💗🇲🇽✊ keep pressing forward 🕯

Awesome video, I grew in South Chicago. I lived a few years in la 26. This video represents the narrative of type environment of inner city are exposed to. I can relate however it all depends on the choices each individual makes. I have friends six feet under who choose the gangs also there alot of us who choose better routes by being educated professionals and entrepreneurs. Thanks for being there Benny and Jorge. 🙏

Sounds exactly like SOUTH and east Los Angeles except LA has 114 neighborhoods in total and is pretty much all Mexican and salvidorian. All the stabbings and shootings happens within those area SOUTH LA. All the cracks heads screaming at the floors and tents all over downtown LA . And trust me none of that hits the news unless it’s celeberty related which is most likely not south LA. Trust me we’re no where near the rich . Watts and south central LA is where all the killings are happening
