Don! I got hire on the spot today . Watching your videos last night help me a lot on today’s interview and that is all thanks to you . The tell me about yourself question did all the work. I got fired from my previous job a month ago after 17 years . I always had a great performance . The day I got fired I was told that I didn’t meet expectations . It was difficult for me to believe it . But after today I gained so much confidence and I’m sure I can do anything that comes my way in my new journey with a different team that from the moment I walked in to my interview they made me feel welcome . Thank you so much for all your advise 😊

This is what I do when I apply. I copy and paste the job description; the subject line, the company name and title. Another tip to streamline to research a company. 1. Know what industry, the company product or service. When the company started. 2. Find the mission statement and core values. Incorporate into your response when they ask you questions. 3. Look at the duties and responsibilities, align to what the interviewer will ask.

is that strategy working well for you?

@@DonGeorgevich Yes. Instead of spending hours reading every piece of literature. I find out the nature of the business and the mission statement and core values. I will read a few things more. I have had experiences when they did not ask what do you know about the company. Recently, they have been asking. I tell them this company is a loan company or it's logistic company with a focus on freezers. Something like that is enough. They ask what are strengths, tell them what they are have a story and use the core values buzz words.

I fell into a hole of zero self-worth and motivation after the company I interviewed with three times as a finalist dropped me with an automated rejection notice and ghosted me when I wrote back (politley) as to why my candicacy would no longer be pursued. Spend the next week in total distress, and flung myself into applying for jobs in the weeks that followed. It's hard to be picky and concise, but your advice is sound, and I'll be trying my best to keep my resumés to a few a day rather than 20 in a week's time. Thank you for your wonderful and helpful videos, Mr. Georgevich! Keep it up :)

I used all you tools but the one with "what to say in a job interview when you were fired worked for me. On why I left my last job. I told them it was a minor company violation. the interviewer told me "We all make mistakes can you start on Monday. Thank you for settling my nerves and starting my new career.

Very good advice Don. I've been watching a lot of your videos for the last several months and I can say, you give the best advice on how to do well in interviews. I had one interview 2 weeks ago and I really thought I got the job. Turns out, the company hired from within. My takeaway from it, I was able to impress the hiring manager and I know I made an impact by following your advice. I can say I am more confident going into future interviews with the 'tools' that you have provided. I'll keep on moving until I get the right job!

@@DonGeorgevich Hi Don. Just wanted to let you know, I got the job offer from the same company. I went thru 8 interviewers before finally speaking with the VP and him offering me the job! I followed all your videos, making sure I answered them the way you have advised. Thank you, thank you, and thank you very much! You are the real deal! I also bought your tutorials and I was getting ready to take your 120 day challenge and get my money back! Ha. I guess I lost on that one. More power to you Don!

Nice video! There's a big catch about "hitting the ground running" though, when it comes to software engineering (which is my area): there's an infinity of tools used by companies, it's not something that can be standardized and replicated everywhere. So usually there's at least some technical onboarding done with the new hires - I've heard about companies doing this for 3 whole months (which seems crazy to me, but...). Every company uses a certain set of tools, and organizes their stuff differently. Some companies rely more on new hires learning from documentation, some rely more on mentoring, some on a combination of both, some don't do either (which is nasty and I've been through that, not fun). Therefore we can only go so far into preparing ourselves for the job - but it's paramount that we do have at least some generic experience in that area, of course, if we're going to work at any level above internship.

Thank you, Don. 😊 I like your contents. I think your channel is one of the best, if not the best, channels here on KZbin when it comes to job application things. Overall, the way you speak is good. However, I'd like to provide constructive criticism about that. I think you can make it better by fixing one thing. I don't know if it's just me, but I always notice that you frequently whisper some words or phrases silently. So silent that I find it hard to hear or understand some of the things you are sharing. It distracts my focus whenever I'm listening to you. I understand that saying some words and phrases silently is essential in communicating effectively because it's a great way to have variety in the way we speak and avoid sounding monotonous, but please do not make it so silent that it is already hard or impossible to hear you. That's all. Thanks, again. We love you, Don. ❤️💖💚🧡💞💙💝🤍💗💜💕💓💛

Don, you have provided great videos for job hunters. I think I messed up on my "salary range" call after final interview. I know they liked me much and Hiring manager also emailed me about how disappointed she was that I won't be able to join them. My salary range was too high for them and they didn't even counter offer, I gave them the range expecting to counter offer me but that wasn't the case this time. Is it still salvageable? or is too late and I should move on? can I email/call them that hey, at least let me know your offer!
@DonGeorgevich

everything is salvaegeable. You just have to try.

@@DonGeorgevich Forgot to come back here and let you know the outcome. It wasn't in my favor. This was one of the fortune 500 companies (a financial institution) and apparently my offer was so much out of range that they didn't even counter offer ( I went by glassdoor salaries) No phone call/no email. Just thank you for your time and that they couldn't even come close to my range. I guess my fault too that I didn't do my homework properly but shouldn't they have at least let me know what they are offering? Hindsight 20/20 - should employers be prodded for range first before they ask me? I was so close for landing this job but it just slipped due to this debacle!
