The point of that is most likely to introduce you to the idea that there may be some invisible items you can only see if you go invisible.

The cut scene with K Rool at the start of Crystal Caves is my favorite, with how the previous boss sticks his head around the corner and schleps in with his head down, only to go on about how horrible it was for him. I like how he shouts when he starts talking. I generally use Diddy Kong to access the area.

That 'uncreative' golden banana in the room with the invisibility switch actually was planned to have a lot of enemies in (including an otherwise-unused Red Klaptrap), but they are all unloaded in the final game, so it's likely that chunky was either supposed to fight all the enemies or use invisibility to sneak past them before getting the golden banana Don't know if that's the actual reason but it could be

I've always wondered for years why the Red Klaptrap was never a boss or enemy to fight. Guess they couldn't push the game any further.

When you let us listen to the music it reminded me of when you wait on the title screen for a long time and it shows a little preview thing of the game. I used to do it for Banjo Kazooie all the time, it made me so nostalgic

I always find it odd that the Krosshair insta-kills you in these cabins like that where back at the 5 doors temple in Angry Aztec, they give you so much time to escape but if you don't you get hit but it only takes away 1 slice of melon. The insta-kill thing would've made MUCH more sense there with the more generous time limit and punishes you for taking too long to get out anyway.

Crystal Caves is not frosty. In real life, crystal caves are hot and deep underground. If you touch an underground crystal it will burn your hand. I remember how shocked I was when I first learned that in a documentary. When I was a kid, we had our own lyrics for Crystal Caves: I'm the only trusted beaver. I'm the only trusted one. This is because there was only one beaver in the level that could respawn, after going through literally 4 whole levels without beavers.

I always loved some of the obvious padding they had to do in this stage. Like not only that Chunky banana but also the fact that they use the whole "Rooms locked by instrument pads for all Kongs" trick TWICE IN THE SAME LEVEL. Not to mention that it's already been used in Gloomy Galleon but was at least more involved then

Why keep a tally? Scykoh always hits his balloons on the first shot, so the end result would just be all balloons in the game.

7 is a really cool level, 6 has some cool stuff (especially that beautiful music) but there's some aspects of it that are really annoying

Personally, Crystal Caves is probably my least favorite stage (still good) in the game. The music is pleasant, but the dim lighting, repetitive scenery, and falling stalactites make it kind of a pain to navigate.
