The arcade segment was my most hated segment as a kid. Like i couldnt get passed the second level so at 14 years old i learned how to do the fall through ledges glitch to get it to finally get to krool after not playing the game for a long time lol. As a kid the only glitch i experienced was when i left the tree stump in creepy castle the water gate sound effect was extremly distored and crusty (def eas from my console moving) but it scared the hell out of me so much i refused to enter water areas in that game for a long time lol

Donkey Kong 64 first came out in the US, so as the Europe and the Japan recieved the game a couple of weeks later, many glitches were actually fixed making the US version much more messy and glitchy than any other version. I know for example that they added some invisble walls under the floor or behind some actual walls to prevent the player to go through them

As a kid I discovered a glitch in the multiplayer mode where if you zoom in on a warp pad and shoot it with the red ammo, the game will freeze. It's completely pointless, but pretty funny lol.

I remember glitching into the Banana Fairy's temple as Chunky when I was a kid. I didn't have an exact method, instead it just involved me turning into Hunky Chunky and jumping around at the island until I clipped in. It's kind of crazy that Hunky Chunky's collision is so busted that just jumping around randomly at the island is a somewhat reliable way to clip in there.

For me, it's when Donkey Kong fell under the rotating puzzle room in Crystal Caves when I hit the switch to the right of the room and then jumped to the wall.

DUDE the one and ONLY time I’ve ever beaten DK64 was because of that Hideout Helm Glitch to get the key. It was the mid 2000’s and I wasn’t very tech savvy so didn’t know how to use the internet to see if anyone knew anything about cheats or glitches and whatnot, then I randomly happened to stumble upon the glitch myself and I was SOOO happy lol. I was convinced that game was impossible to beat for me. I’m sure I could make my way in there legitimately now that I’m 26 hahaha. Just wanted to let you know how happy I am to see that this same glitch made it onto your video! Keep up the awesome work!

I remember when I played this as a kid. I didn’t know what glitches were. Fast forward many years and then I found out about how many glitches were in the game. Of course you didn’t mention all them in the video but there’s so many and it’s hard to keep track of. I was overwhelmed the first time I heard about it. It honestly makes me love the game even more because you can sequence break so many things, and get to the end of the game so much faster than we thought about many, years ago. I love this glitchy mess of a game. 😂

Every time I re-play I use swim through shores and swim through vertical walls as often as it is useful. Always skip the banana donations to Troff & Scoff. The orange lag has always been a tough get for me! Same as the moonkick. Great video!

I did indeed discover a glitch while playing this game as a kid, and I believe I was the first to post about it on the internet back in the day. Jump with Diddy or Lanky against the pipe leading to the engine room in Hideout Helm (intended for Tiny) and if you hit it right they'll shrink and go through it, coming out of the cutscene still in a Mini Monkey state.

When playing Multiplayer mode my sister got Lankey to do the sliding gun glitch. Lankey got knocked out of it when I attacked him. I also remember glitching Hunky Chunky to the other parts of Jungle Japes using the beehive Tiny has to go in. What's even funnier is if you go back to that area after you cancel Hunky Chunky you can still climb the unclimbable but not with just Chunky but other Kongs as well. Also in the area with the unclimbable trees in Jungle Japes there's a Kritter that won't respawn there but there's a way to make it re-spawn with out entering somewhere or leaving the level and re-entering to do this you need to be on the lower ledge near the beehive by the wall closes to Tiny Mini Monkey barrel simple turn the camera so it's facing behind you and press down C to zoom it out as far as it goes and it should glitch into the wall and then wait until you hear the enemy re-spawn sound and the Kritter will have re-spawned.

I think as a combination of the N64 being the first true 3D Nintendo console, and the fact that Rare really pushed the system's limits with how much they put in there probably wound up causing a ton of bugs that they simply couldn't have found, mainly cause they just wanted to get it out without taking super long. But still the glitches are cool nonetheless!

what i dont understand is why devs have to take out fun glitches in single player games. the original turok 2 with the black cart you could glitch 2 players into single player but for some reason the devs patched it and the grey carts it was impossible to do. then theres rockstar devs with gta online if there is a clothing glitch to add more clothing options IT WILL BE PATCHED IN 2 DAYS!.

As for why Dogodon is so buggy it probably has to do with him being a later addition to the game as there was supposed to be a giant snake boss in angry Aztec originally

Never forget that games also just... Kind of melt if you don't have the proper hardware to run it. Clown vomit colored crops is how i figured out that oops! I bought and was playing Fallout 4 GOTY with a GPU that didn't meet minimum spec. EDIT: oh, right. DK64. My only glitch that i can remember isn't a glitch, just that the TV was so dark i hated Gloomy Galleon because the lobby was almost impossible to see anything in... Like it was hard to even find the entrance to begin with ..

Honestly. I loved to glitch as kid. In gta 3 back then, i glitched into every interior etc. I played through dk 64, i never encountert 1 glitch...... and played through it back then. Nontheless, it's an old game. To force break the game to see glitches is also something else. Old Games where mostly, from today standpoint, hold together with ducktape. But back then, game tester didn't forced games that much, because a normal play through without glitching havin in mind is something else if you search it, and back then that was mostly enough. Sure they tried to brake it. But times changed. Now everyone try to break games because of speedruns etc. I world not call the game so brocken as you did. Most games could be brocken back then, also mostly early 3d games. Even ps2 had alot such games. But damn, updates kinda ruined that. I love games that aren't really really brocken... but i honestly miss games that are kinda 100% playable and you find glitches sometimes that are fun. Now first it's brocken, second it gets updates .... that kinda ruins the fun in my opinion. There is no half point. Games get released in a worse state and get fixed in an too extreme way sometimes.... sorry. English isn't my native language. I hope, you still get what i am trying to say...
