About Me: I'm not a pro mountain biker. Just an average dude loving all the adventures mountain biking has to offer. I do tons of trail building at Everstoke with Brian from BKXC. If I'm not building I'm riding my bike on some sick singletrack or hanging out with my family. Adventuring every day I can.

I lived in truckee for 8 years and jackass was my go-to ride when I only had an hour or so to ride. So good!!!

That's awesome! I wish the rock roll features would've stayed the way they were a long time ago. They sanitized them with dirt. Still fun but I love the more natural rock stuff

Also check out sawtooth area if you have never been over that way. Basically the lower portion of Big Chief. They are closer to blue maybe even green but they are fun to cruise. There is a newer trail over there called Wood Splitter, while it's short it has some fun features on it and some jumps. You can actually drive right up to the bottom of that trail but riding up, doing a few laps on that then taking happy face back to the car is a nice semi short ride. They also just opened a 'skills' loop right near the parking lot. Might be some more inspiration for Everstoke.

Thanks for the info. I'm very interested in that Wood Splitter and skills loop. I have done some of the Sawtooth stuff but haven't really explored it out very much. I just rode some of it after I did the Big Chief ride. I will be sure to make my way over to these in the near future.

Looks like a fun trail. I do like the little details they added like after the first rock roll there is that catch berm to stop you from running off trail. It also looks like they have a lot of side shots burnt into the edges of the trail, makes for a nice mixed ability run/progression trail.

Great you noticed all that stuff. I'm actually thinking about going back to these trails for some practice runs because of all the cool little things they built. It would be really cool to learn where all of them are. I need me a good progression session

@@mtbingadventures1551 It looks like a good one because most of them looked to be pretty low consequence but fun, almost like designated trail jibbing points.

@@mtbingadventures1551 yeah I lived in Portola for a while. I used to go to the Brewing Lair all the time so I know exactly where Everstoke is. I’m in Southern Oregon now but still really miss it down there. I definitely need to come down there soon.

Being from the Bay Area at Sea level, any type of climbing at that elevation and I can’t breathe. Really sucks. Takes me a while to acclimate.

I like when you commentate on your videos. I think just more pre-thought to your words and then using the speaking/negotiation skill when a thought comes to mind of taking a deep breath to think about the thought twice and then saying it on the exhale while trying to talk very slowly might help a lot. Also, just simple positive reactions to the trail as you ride it goes a long ways, "Woah, Awesome, Smashed It, Giggle, Eeek!"etc... Hope to ride together soon when the weather gets better!

@@mtbingadventures1551 Works like a charm now. Hey I saw your older video of Big Chief and was thinking about mashing these trails up like your links (LOL) for a single day of riding. Would that make for a good day of riding (Big Chief + El Burro = MTB awesomeness)?
@mtbingadventures1551
@mtbingadventures1551 2 жыл бұрын
@@kevinbickelmann2260 Great! Yes, I think those would be awesome to do in one day. El Burro and Donkey Town were quick even though I pedaled up. Big Chief is a bit more of a climb and mostly fire roads. I would do Big Chief first and really think out your parking spot and climb route. If you have a shuttle driver you could do each trail twice I would think.
