Watching Scott ride is definitely motivational in so many ways: his age, skill, and expertise; his Ibis bikes culture; and his love of the outdoors. Well done.....my next bike will be a Ripley!!!!!

So dope you get to ride with Scot! Incredible to think that because of him, my Ripmo hasn’t just taken to me to some great trails and experiences, but has allowed me to meet some incredible people and make some great new friends. His impact far surpasses the single track. ✌🏼🤟🏼

Stoked you got to experience Big Chief - one of the best techie chunky trails around with some fun flow in the second half. thanks for paying Tahoe a visit and next time you're in town feel free to hit me up - gladly show you guys some other amazingly cool trails...

Alright, so nice you made it to Truckee! Dang, miss it this year. Well, we were at Squaw for a week, but that was all. Usually, Donner Pass and truckee are regular destinations for me and the fam at least four times throughout the nice months. Miss the trails, the trees, the trains and the togetherness of our group up at the pass. 2020 sucks! But happy to have been able to dodge the Covid while still being able to ride and play.

I wish I had seen a video like this before I camped on the Truckee River. I did the older western states up and deer creek down loop but it looks like Big Chief could be used for a longer loop back all the way to Truckee.

Really makes me miss living down that way. I love Jackass trail too. Rode that all the time. One thing to note with the last few videos the music is a lot louder than the rest of the video. I have to turn the volume up and down throughout the video.

Angrywolverine MTB Tyrolean 100%. Big Chief has some super cool segments but has lots of connectors and transfer segments. The overall feel of the trail is that it has no flow because you keep getting interrupted.

Truckee is getting very blown out - please don't move here - no parking,trash and people every where on the trails
@dudeonbike800
@dudeonbike800 3 жыл бұрын
I find your remarks arrogant and typical of the "I moved here already, but YOU can't!" locals. Thank Silicon Valley, Hollywood and all the other economic engines that fuel Truckee and Sierra development. That's the simple reality of people retiring with money and wanting to live somewhere beautiful. If you truly feel this way, you should be donating every spare dollar to the Truckee Donner Land Trust, encouraging others to do same, and fighting the very-pro development county supervisors and Chamber of Commerce. Encourage seasonal visitation, not cabin ownership. We're loving the Sierra to death.

@@dudeonbike800 the more trees is a good one the miss management of the forest is why we have the worst fire danger ever the forest would never look like what it is if mother nature was allowed to do her thing. humans have created the problem 200yrs ago the forest in truckee was completely different
@dudeonbike800
@dudeonbike800 3 жыл бұрын
@@gordycross5034 ah jeez... Ok, how's this? "Fewer locals, more mature, old-growth, well-spaced large trees and less light-starved twigs-as-ladder-fuel-trees!" Yes, I'm fully aware of the fuel accumulation problem. But generations of fire suppression are the direct result of development. With all the Sierra cabins everywhere, "let it burn" is a difficult policy to enforce - unless losing your job as a CalFire (CDF, dammit!) chief or elected official is your goal. Build them and they (wildfires) will come.

I'm a hiker and I hate mountain bikers...most are respectful but I have come in contact with sooooo many of them who think no one else has a right to be on the trail...and they tear up the ground and leave deep ruts making it much less safe for others...

DontLookBack there are definitely bad news MTBERS out there, just as there are bad news hikers out there too, and bad equestrians, and bad dog walkers (the worst offenders IMO) but most of us are very respectful of other users. My group all ride with bells on, ALWAYS yield the trail to hikers and try to be friendly and say hi. Sadly, ebikes are allowing more and more trail users who aren’t educated to the codes on the trails. However, don’t group us all together as one group. Also don’t forget that it’s the MTBERS who do the majority of the trail advocacy, trail building and trail maintenance. Furthermore, don’t forget that most of the trails you hike were designed as MTB trails first and foremost and we are forced to placate the hikers and equestrians to get trails approved. I’ve helped build trails all around Tahoe with both TAMBA and BLTS (and Sierra Trails in the lost Sierra) and have NEVER seen a hiker show for a trail day, not one time, in probably 40 sanctioned trail days and countless other unsanctioned or personal trail days.
