So proud of you my man. Especially watching you let faster people through. Not only did you race well you showed great sportsmanship. Keep up the good work, and hopefully I'll get my old body out there to get passed by you.

Hey Aiden, congratulations! As one of your coaches I'll get to say "I knew him back when...". So stoked for you! Finishing 10 mins ahead is quite an achievement and your climbing performance may be an indication that you could have brought a little more travel with you to not only aid you on the descent but to enjoy it more. I'm super stoked for your future!

Nice job! I've ridden the downhill 17-mile stretch, and I can't imagine riding up first and then doing it. Well earned!

I think you mean "green with envy". The kid is 13. He's an amateur. A highly skilled one, but an amateur.

@@joepistorio2457 ah yes if he’s that young no way to move up from what I know I’ve raced many times & we would always have people in our group that needed to move up but preferred to win over & over you know the old saying The harder the battle the Sweeter the victory. Congrats to him for sure if he’s that young you don’t see a lot of younger people putting in the work in cycling we both know it’s a tuff sport the second highest cardio rating out of all sports cross country skiing is #1.

Haven’t raced for years but ❤raced for 25, years. it was dis-heartening seeing a team 1,2,&3 in the beginner class, I could never win my class until I started racing Clydesdale.. 205 - 215 lbs. started placing then, since it was open class and the fast dudes were racing beginner.

Downieville on a Supercaliber? Damn bud, you are really taking "underbiking" to a new level. Huge props my guy. Huge props.

Nah, I used to ride it in the 90s on a hard tail with a 80mm fork, and canti brakes.

Great video and congrats! I'm surprised how capable the Supercaliber is and I love mine. Are you using the stock fork, or did you opt for a little more squish up front?
@AidenRidesBikesMTB5 ай бұрын
I am using the stock fork but a 120 mm fork would have probably been better!

Did you really eat the blocks stuck to your top tube?

I do! Having nutrition more easily accessible then your back pocket is really nice especially on the downhill!

@@AidenRidesBikesMTB What are they? Interesting strategy! Nice work on the win!
@AidenRidesBikesMTB4 ай бұрын
Good question! They are called cliff blocks and are often used by cyclists and occasionally runners. Other companies like GU also make them but in my opinion cliff makes them the best!

Should have been in the sport category. Clearly not a "beginner".
