It always amazes me how celebrities go through struggles just like regular people, but media blows their issues way out of proportion by throwing around words like addiction, mental struggles and “possible career ending” when the rest of us folks just adjusted back to normal lives because that’s what we had to do to survive. Meanwhile, celebrities “suffered, escaped, endured and courageously overcame” what we regular people just got over it, forgot about it and moved on.

What you’re pointing out is that we are all “regular and normal”, we are human regardless of the artificiality of being in the spotlight. However one part of what those in the spotlight have to deal with that others don’t is that those who make these people “famous” (the rest of the population) treat them as if they are more than human. This “little extra bit” can be very challenging, especially for teens. So while yes all of the human frailties, failures, or feelings pretty much everyone goes through are part of their lives, they also have this extra bit. And the reason for it is the rest of us!

I’m actually glad to see this video. In the 70s I was a kind of counter culture hippie and strongly disliked them. Now I’m old and grey and found that the trials and tribulations they suffered with drug abuse and mental illness gives me a whole new perspective on them. I’m very impressed by how they have been able to recover and continue their singing careers. I appreciate this video for showing them in this light. Now this aging old hippie baby boomer has gained a new respect for these hardworking and brave individuals. They went through hell and came out alright. I say good on them and I hope they continue to succeed!

Donny has always been a devote Mormon. Even though I don't agree with the religion there are some things Donny wouldn't do. Drinking alcohol is one of them shoot they don't even drink coffee. So I don't know where you get your info but that is one thing that's definitely wrong. Most of the stuff I already knew but the other stuff I didn't know is questionable at the very least. For some reason all of the Osmond families entertaining life and private life has always been under scrutiny, they are always trying to tear them down because of their beliefs.

I worked security on their bus here at CNE Toronto for 5 years. George even asked me to come live with them at home and travel with them. I didn’t think they would last that long and I didn’t want to quit school. Olive Osmond was here, she was quite large. Marie,s real name is Olive. I asked Donny what it was like to know that every girl in North America want to go to bed with him. Marie’s son was gay which was deadly for Mormons. Enough said.

A lot of this is false info! Marie did not have weight loss surgery. Donny never did drugs or drank alcohol. Donny did have surgery from an accident but did not have to learn to walk or dance again. The only serious surgery that threatened his career was on his vocal chords. He could have lost his voice. And when he was younger he broke his neck body surfing and that could have been serious. You should get your facts straight before posting videos like this!
