No doubt. Boldon had Bailey by at least 2 meters about halfway through. I remember watching this race live and thinking that Boldon was going to win, and seemingly out of nowhere comes Bailey.

Had to re-watch to see how he did that

This race was so inspiring for me, I was 7 at the time and one of the fastest kids my age. Remember my 100 meter and 4x100 relay races that year like it happened yesterday, now DeGrasse is a gold medalist....Love it!

Baileys top speed was phenomenal. He is so poor of the blocks, if he was a good starter he would of ran the low 9.70's

Really glad the false start stuff was corrected because this race was horrible starting, but definitely finished outstanding. Bailey was incredible!!

2 legendary calls from Bruce McAvaney in the 100m and 200m. Calling Donovan Bailey breaking a W.R and also another amazing call calling Michael Johnson's 200m W.R also a few days after.

Bailey was still accelerating over the final stretch of the race, reminiscent of the great Carl Lewis……amazing run by Donovan Bailey there!!

He wasn’t. He was just slowing down more slowly in relation to his competitors.

Wonder what time Christie would have run if he wasn't disqualified?
@brunothebruisera.k.aleftho29715 жыл бұрын
That would have been good he has high top end speed at the last 50 didn't get a chance to see him do it one more time
@darrenshaw7675 жыл бұрын
marty smith I don't think would have been anywhere near the medals. He was on the decline here . He ran a seasons best 10.03 here in Atlanta. I think he would have been near Mitchell if he had run. 4th or 5th.
@martysmith91845 жыл бұрын
@@darrenshaw767 Still would have liked to see it though . Just for the run itself.
@darrenshaw7675 жыл бұрын
marty smith yes me to. He always performed to his best in finals. He would have had to have been in the form of 93 though to challenge here.

@@darrenshaw767 we'll always have Barcelona. Christie was one of the best. Who do you think will win Tokyo next year?

Bailey, Michael Johnson, Ben Johnson and more guys would takeaway at least 3 gold from bolt in 100 and 200 if they had to compete against him.
@padmarley4 жыл бұрын
You are not taking into account that Bolt would run faster if these names were competing

Don't mention Ben Johnson please. He was ordinary without the drugs.

@@BlueToronto so was bolt in the 2017 world championship. 9.58 couldn't beat a 9.90. Everybody say bolt train for big show but strict dope testing 10 flat struggling. A natural 9.58 should never have any trouble with 9.90 runner. Like tyson gay 9.80+/- all day everyday. Positive ped test and je struggling like bolt 10 flat. Like Ben after positive test. Then tumble flip in the relay.
