total classic! this race was hyped up quite a bit as a battle between Maurice and Donovan it was such a disappointment when Donovan gave up at the end.
@thaidukharran32975 жыл бұрын
Am I the only one who saw that the race was faults startled. I advise everyone to go back and look at the race. It was the same reaction to the first faults start. My interpretation of that race is, that because Maurice got the jump and was away. They did not signaled to start over. Please go back and look at the race. The guy from the left faults stated 100%. I think it was Drummond's. Please go back and look at the race . I've looked at it several times, and it's the same result........faults started

agreed! as a Canadian it was great to see Donovan win the Olympics in 1996, and WC in 1995, but after that it was all Greene. The 1997 WC 100m final was the last and only time they had a fair race, Donovan got injured soon after and never really recovered after that.
@waynewalton87983 жыл бұрын
Donovan Bailey also got into running or sprinting I very late age. His peak was 96. But with his poor training habits and ego got the best of him. Then the injuries happened. Lot harder to recover from when your in ur late 20s.

I'm glad the Jamaican's took over Sprinting bc they made it fun and enjoyable to watch it. As much as I respect Maurice and Ato, they were just way too serious and it didn't seem as fun. Maybe it was the time of the 90's, it was one of the most violent modern times, so we were very serious during those times. Thank you to my Caribbean Brother's in Jamaica for making sprinting fun, pleasurable and easy going.

I heard someone say at 60m your top end speed is gone well now a day top end speed doesn't start until you reach 60m and Usain Bolt rewrote the history book on top end speed and Maruice was talking about the different phases of starting maybe all the sprinters should take notes on starting from Ben Johnson because he had no drive phase it was explode out and running before everyone else so I'm not a fan of a drive phase then running,if a sprinter with top end speed learn this type of start they will be hard to beat

Ato is jealous and sore loser. He tried to be little Bailey in every way by saying Johnson was the fastest man in the world right after he was beaten by Bailey in the Olympics and then at this world championship he celebrated as if he won just because Bailey lost. The guy is so bad in his mind and was jealous of Bailey. Can't stand people like that and what's really upsetting is both of them are from the same roots with Jamaican parents.

i didn't realize it was ato boldon that was making the claims of worlds fastest man to johnson after his 200/400m wins. you know ato boldon (now) as an NBC commentator seems far less roid-ragey compared to ato boldon of the 90's. not sure what it was but he seemed to be on another level in the 90s

Donovan Bailey you are still the Olympic champion, this is race is nothing as such. It does not count on your resume at all, because that race does not count at all. It is only two races 🏁 you really ratings from that, the Olympic is the number one and. The world champion is the 2nd highest in track and field, so that race is not recognized at all. Plus most of the United States athletes them is caught using drugs, so I don't rates them at all. Ato Borland is hooked up with the wrong kinds of athletes them, same birds 🐦 of a kind. I would like to know after the race if all those athletes was tested for drugs, before I can approved the winner. Too many drugs athletes is in the race, they all know themselves.
