I LOVE this song, and Donovan and Crystal Gayle are perfect for this heart warming song of LOVE. The first time I listened to it I actually got a couple tears in my eyes. As I have metastatic prostate cancer and one of my cancer doctors told me I'm late stage 4 and it is very aggressive I do spend some of my remaining days listening to LOVE songs such as this one. They warm my heart and remind me of my 45 years I've been lucky enough to have with my beautiful wife, Deb. I am so fortunate to have this LOVE affair with her. God Bless each of you and please focus on the happiness in your lives.

Best wishes! May you celebrate every day that you awake breathing. I have stage 4 colon and liver cancer. I've prepared as much as possible; made my cremation urn and placed my headstone. I've also made a list of songs to be played at my celebration of life. This is one of them. Good luck to us both and to all the other cancer fighters out there.

When I went to Vietnam in 1967 I took a little tape player with me on which I had taped some songs by Donovan. I figured that in lonely times over there in that jungle I could get some feelings of being back home. Donovan's voice could soothe things even in that hell hole called Vietnam.

Christal was very sweet and Donavan very very amused that she didn't know the words.

If you're a Donovan fan, I can understand you being into the mellow yellow. But this is a song about trying to catch the wind, and doing it faster makes more musical sense. There is a sense of urgency in the lyrics, something else that should push the song along.

@@johnwattdotca I disagree. This song is a sad lament for what you long for yet will never receive. To me it should be slow, almost mournful.

@@billnaylor518! Are you saying you don't know what it's like to catch the wind? A bicycle racer told me this last night, seeing him outside. He said I should let the wind blow me to Niagara Falls and told me the route. It worked. I didn't have to pedal sometimes, and it felt like I was trying to catch up to the wind, trees bending, only two cars on the road. This is new, global warming summer winds instead of winter snow. I still think this song should have a driving force to it. What you're saying reminds me of "Shenandoah", an older style of folk song, about a lifestyle lost to the ages.
