I love those friends, who use a half a bag of charcoal to cook with! And the hamburgers and hot dogs... or a nice steak, is litterally cooking at 1500 degrees, for 20 minutes! And you are served up a small bricket of charred meat jerky!

Chimney starter of course. Burgers: 6-7oz of 80/20 Chuck patties seasoned well. Weber Kettle with Vortex and cast iron grill grates Grill to a slight char (Maillard reaction) on both sides. Top with cheddar cheese & indirect until °135F Dogs: Simmer in cheap beer with peppers/onions than direct heat for grill marks. Enjoy

Right about the chimney though I don’t like the taste of fuel in my meal because some people do it to quick and you get that fuel taste

Someone once told me, "just show it to the fire" when I asked how they liked it cooked and I thought they meant well done, haha.

There are always people who press a hamburger, just to squeeze out the juices and hear the sizzle, as that juicyness hits the hot coals. They never understand why their hamburgers are dry as hell, and all shrank up!

the chimney he is showing is the best. in addition to the size ...notice the coil underneath. way better than the flat bottom ones with the holes. and also a great/sturdy handle! all important

Love your videos! I have a big green egg and always love firing it up! Thinking about adding a Weber kettle grill to my outdoor kitchen.

If using a grill (gas or charcoal), I prefer to cook hamburgers in my Lodge skillet. The burgers cook, like they do on a griddle. Staying nice and juicy, since all the grease stays in the pan. Plus, all that grease doesn't drip into the grill, making a giant mess! Depending on the number of burgers I use a 12", 15" or the giant 17" skillet on our Weber charcoal grill. A cast iron, griddle works good too!

After buying and using a charcoal chimney, I've never gone back to lighter fluid. Best 25 bucks you can spend

Very good tips. I don't eat hot dogs, but when I cook them for others, they always say, " we want them black." I don't know how they eat them like that.

Another good tip! Clean your grill grate, LONG BEFORE entertaining your guests! Nothing is worse than the greasy, rusty, holy, hairy grill grate Uncle Bob has used for 20 years... and never cleans! I don't want my food, cooked on that nasty shit! Get that charcoal to 500 degrees (20 minutes), and the crudd scrubs off easily with your grill scrapper! Then oil the grate as it cools. And again before you cook!

Its how I grill a venison steak. Of late I been finding that half a chimney full of charcoal is more that enough to grill a steak and even some corn on the cob. Have a great 4th. 247 years of American Freedom. Same to the rest of you as well!

the worst is when people start cooking before the coals are burned off (especially people who use lighter fluid)...makes things taste like kerosene
