@@veevoir and let's be honest. The mk5 Supra looks quite frankly NOTHING like the new Z4. Now, yes, it was built off the chassis and with the same engine, but, imo, I like it more for that reason.

@MrKalashnik0va Ummm.. let's see here.. No. Not really. It looks good, and performs good. The only worry I have is repair cost. I have driven it before, and I was not disappointed. So no. It isn't a shoe box covered in icing. Also there is no "honest" answer in this. You like it, you like it. You don't, then you don't.
@alexilauto14194 жыл бұрын
@MrKalashnik0va Alright, Gordon Ramsay. I am not going to say it again after this. You don't like it, and that's fine. I do. We have our opinions. I like the car. @alexilauto14194 жыл бұрын
@MrKalashnik0va That's what I was saying. I said the only issue I am worried about is the price to pay when it needs to be repaired. Sorry if I got a bit pissy, but it really isn't that bad. If anything, I think it's underrated. People are constantly saying that it looks like a BMW Z4. I don't think so. I like the car overall, and that is me being honest. In college, I was a chauffeur for a concierge service, where companies and rich folk ordered a driver for long drives. ie business trips and sometimes vacations. I had this one client, an architect, whom I drove quite some time. Who had an 850. It was a blast as it was a once in a lifetime experience. The guy was a bit of a self-centered prick but it was clear to me that one of the few things in life he cared most for other than himself was his 850. He drove the absolute bloody hell out of the car. He even pushed me to drive as fast as I dared possible. Just once I maxed it out and it was flat out one of my most memorable driving experiences. As per company protocol I couldn't drive faster than 20 miles above the speed limit otherwise, they wouldn't cover the costs of a ticket and legal stuff. This was around ten years ago and at that time I drove this guy, for like 15 months, he totaled his car 3 to 4 times. I heard he had totaled it around 8 times total. So there is only guessing how many times he'd done this. But his love for the car was so strong, he kept buying the car back from the insurance company. Have the damage repaired and drove the living hell out of it again. That's some serious commitment.

I would like to clarify some things in this comment section about the relationship between BMW and Toyota. Yes , the electronics , the engine and the suspension are from BMW but that doesn't mean Toyota was sitting on its ass while BMW did all the work and Toyota just strolled in and slapped it's badge on BMW's work. During the development phase, Toyotas engineers took the BMW engine and put it through *TOYOTAS OWN RELIABILITY TEST* everything on that engine was tested , even individual bolts that hold the brakes was tested, Thanks to Toyota , the new Z4 roadster is more reliable than it should and been, plus BMW and Toyota co-developed the chassis. This isn't another GM type of funny business of badge engineering, in fact , EU law prohibits badge engineering. And because of this , After they picked the engine and the suspension and the electronics and the chassis , they parted ways , the body styling , the handing characteristics and the tune is all done by its respective manufacturer. kzbin.info/www/bejne/lZvFqq2jqcyIlZI

@@KGDHMF TBH if it wasn't for the fact that BMW was involved, the screamy fan boys would actually notice. Still it's not the mark iv, so they propably would still bitch about it, like all screamy fan boys do, which is a shame. I would much rather appreciate the fact that they did a new one in the first place and not trashing it may result in more new Supras. Which would be sick.

Having lived through the era when the 840/850 arrived I do remember the excitement for its arrival. Unfortunately once it showed up owners complained of the weight of the car and maintenance issues. I drove one - it was a very lumbery heavy feeling car. The 840 turned out to be a much better version to live with.
