Becoming a cop should be more difficult. 4-8 year process. They should be paid handsomely considering they’re pillars and leaders of their community. Then we wouldn’t have some of these bozo cops. Good luck (in my country at least) getting a law enforcement job without a 2 year degree in policing or 4 year undergrad in a related field. Then you have to give the agency of your choice access to basically your entire life (from online profiles, calling ex gfs, to a lie dete tor test) ontop of ~5-10 police board/panel interviews. Once they accept you as a POSSIBLE candidate you start 1 year of training at policing academy, PREP & PIN test, written test, and then at least a year as a cadet or "rookie" on the job where you are partnered with a seasoned officer. Not to mention they won't even look at you if your under 25. So no, in the real world not every cop chose it over flipping burgers.

Well, not sure if KZbin section is the best way to discuss this here are the infos I jave about the topic: - I live in Czech Republic my whole life, most of it in Prague (so I mostly know people from the "metropolitan bubble") - out of all the people I know, only with 4 I talked about them having firearm license - I read stats about the amount of armed citizens in EU per capita... and our country was quite up there... so there is clearly good percentage of people in our country who do own guns.... That said, I have never really seen anyone else than police carry guns in the public. It's not a trend in schools and only one political party has gun ownership as a topic among their goals... That's why I have the impression that an average person in our country (definitely compared to the US) has less knowledge, if any, about guns
