@cyborgninja9222 жыл бұрын
It's because they know they are gonna get into huge trouble once the police find out who they are. I've seen so many cases on this channel and off that have the same thing happen. Dude has outstanding warrants, or is an ex-felon in possession of drugs or a gun. They know that they'll go to jail, so they instead try to kill the cops or get the cops to kill them cause they are too scared to off themselves or go back to jail. It's why Junior was begging for them to just shoot him when they started demanding he get out, leading up to him pulling his, more than likely, illegal gun out and firing at them.

@culcune3 жыл бұрын
Kind of--he wouldn't have been obligated to show ID for just sitting there; nor for simply driving away, as the catch-22 was him merely stating he had no ID when he did not have to show it at that point. Had the cops pulled him over based merely on him saying he had no ID, yet he was able to produce one, the guy might have been able to bring action in civil court (possibly--more likely in a liberal state). But, pulling him over would have been warranted once determined the van had the wrong tag, which obligated him to produce an ID at that point. I am guessing the gas station was closer than them getting information on the tag, which is why the van was already stopped.

Some people complain that this was “illegal” or “harassment” by running the plate. Well when I lived in a bigger city in CA, there was A LOT of car theft. Police would patrol our apartment complex parking lot and others, especially motels not looking for people in cars “looking suspicious.” They would regularly run plates on cars, especially ones who were not usually parked there to check for stolen cars. They’d run plates to make sure they weren’t reported stolen or come back to the wrong car. Sorry but I’m completely ok about that. Our car theft rate is and was crazy high. Glad I don’t live there anymore!
@jamesp92262 жыл бұрын
The “some people” are idiots. We need to start ignoring or shutting them down. I hate to see cops putting their lives in danger trying to be super nice to obvious bad guys. I know I'm 3 years late, but this is a perfect example of giving someone all of everyone's patience. They tried to work with Junior. Gave him all the chances in the world. Junior knew all along the angle he was going to play. He understood how it could end if he kept it up, and yet he still resisted all of their efforts anyway. It's honestly just sad that people think they're going to somehow change the LEO's minds if they keep arguing. Why not just go along with it all and accept the reasonable consequences, even if they suck? You did it to yourself. Pay the consequences the right way. Don't make shit difficult on yourself and others. It doesn't do ANYONE any good to make things rougher than they have to be. Coulda just been some semi-routine shit too. Wild.

All he would have gotten was a citation and a traffic court date. But JR here had to push it into felonies. Shows you how stupid the criminal element is.
@davidbrodowicz68752 жыл бұрын
@@lightpawshird No kidding. I mean I think we all understand that criminals are dumb, and I guess that's why they break laws and whatnot; smart decision making is not their forte. But I'm still shocked from time to time that people will go out of their way to make a situation far worse when it doesn't have to be difficult. I'm sure someone will say "privilege" or something but I mean tons of criminals are stopped and arrested every day without issues because they understand the process. I dont know...sometimes I'm just flabbergasted by the choices people make.
