That would also require him to enter the zone that the officers are trying to control. So he would need permission from the officers (which would likely be granted). However, do you think baby momma is gonna let her bargaining chip be removed? And this also assumes that he's been allowed agency over the child in the past. Consideeing how argumentative she is, I doubt it. At this point we don't have enough information and are making assumptions. Would it have been nice? Yes. Should he have? Depends on mommas wishes. Have a wonderful day!” Woman leaves and the whole thing lasts maybe a minute at the most. Maybe two if the cops made small talk.

Well, technically you can steadily build up an oxygen deficit whilst still screaming if you’re in a position of positional asphyxia. Padding a stop with LEOs is evidence of overstaffing and the need for layoffs. And don't play the officer safety card considering the number of jobs which are far more hazardous. Also the disproportionate contrast between officer fatalities and the number of their employers they kill.

I wouldn't be surprised if they feel this way. It's not out of line to think she might be hyperventillating (entirely her fault). It also isn't out of question that she may have something like Asthma where she might ACTUALLY be struggling to breathe, but not life threateningly so, so the officers really should be clearing that kind of stuff just in case. If there's nothing medical though, she's just a prat and needs to relax.
