The lead singer, Will Ramos, is a super nice and funny dude. He's also becoming a pretty big KZbinr in his own right and he's started doing reaction videos too! He's a regular guest on The Charismatic Voice. Often when people dip their toes into extreme metal they keep asking "how do you understand the lyrics" but I've been a metal head for many years and if I'm honest I've never understood most of the lyrics of a band like Lorna Shore. Unlike other styles, the lyrics of metal (while often potent and carefully written) are not at all the focal point. Instead, focus on the many layers of the music, the way the guitars interweave, the different textures and moments in each part of the song. Metal is, at it's heart, a projection of power. The key for me was to learn to embrace and appreciate the millions of little elements intertwining to create this overwhelming tapestry of sonic intensity. Metal is exceptionally musically complex but is often misinterpreted as "noise" because it is such an assault to the senses. Based on your reaction, you may be just a few songs away from becoming a metalhead yourself 😋

I love this dudes reaction..priceless...I saw Lorna Shore in Birmingham at the end of November and the whole band, not just Will but the WHOLE Band sound utterly Authentic and are just a Brutal assault on the senses that's hard to put into words.....let's just say F**KING HELL, IT'S IMPESSIVE. At the moment, after 30 years of being a Metal Fan seeing some of the greatest bands ever Lorna Shore are a Phenomenon that can't be explained or ignored.

I commend you sir. \m/ Will Ramos (the singer) is an absolute sweetheart in person. I just went to a Lorna Shore concert a few months ago and the mutual love and respect among the concert goers despite the moshing and crowd surfing is something best experienced in person. Will kept reminding the crowd to drink their water because he didn't want to see anyone getting dehydrated. It was lovely. Metal concerts are one of the few scenarios that don't trigger my social anxiety.

It’s really best to read along with the lyrics first few times and you’ll be amazed how clear the lyrics actually become man. This lead singer will Ramos is really shaking up deathcore on how much you can actually feel. Also the lead singer is the biggest teddy bear you’ll ever meet super chill down to earth guy!

Yea I’d shoot for Wrath or the Pain Remains Trilogy. 100% correct too. You get an ear for it. Plus it’s not like we don’t scream along to our favorite songs anyway. It was truly like I was listening to death metal for the first time again. I didn't think I would ever have that feeling again. I'm seeing these guys live next week and I cannot wait. On the understanding the lyrics part, once your ear is trained enough you can pick a lot of stuff out but it depends on the vocalists delivery, some are easier than others to understand and some are straight unintelligible. That said, with metal although still an important role the vocals aren't always the main driving force of the song, they're often just used as another layer of instrumentation and are much more part of the overall composition. This is why they tend to sit further back in the mix as compared to a pop song where they're the central focus point.
