R.I.P Joe Jordison , thats the drummer you saw in the video sadly passed away in 2021 at age 46 but not due to alcohol or drugs as you may think its was due to acute transverse myelitis , long story short inflammation (swelling) of the spinal cord. It is caused by the body's immune system becoming mis-programmed and activating immune cells to attack the healthy myelin covering the nerves in the spine.

Fun fact. Yes. Those are real slipknot fans in the video, it is even a real slipknot fans house. They bought the property and planned to build a new house on it but had to demolish it first. But couldn't afford it. Word got to slipknot and they decided to help, they get a crazy video shoot of destroying a house, and thr house comes down for the fan. Perfect win win scenario.
@michaellind96502 ай бұрын
Also. Side note. Slipknot isn't metal. Like real metal. It was part of a niche genera around 2000's called nu metal. Others bands in that genera are limp bizkit, linking park, Korn. For some example. It usually fused 2 or more generas, together. The most common was rock and rap/hip hop. Like. The singer (Corey taylor) here would rock out, but he also had the rap like spots in the song over a metal instramentals. Linkin park had a singer who could also voice metal songs, a rapper/hip hopper who could also sing, a dj for more of a hip hop style and talented people on instruments who had different styles in their arsenal as well.

A call went out to the members of 'Outside the Nine' - which was at the time the official Slipknot fan club (not sure if it is still a thing) to be in the video. If I'm not mistaken Corey said that this song was about a Migraine, but I feel like it has such a deeper meaning to most of it's audience. Don't let the masks scare you all that's in Slipknot are a bunch of broken dudes that needed an outlet for there anger and rage for the hand life dealt them; the masks were just to give life to the fear people had of them.

This single was actually from 2004 (20 years ago) from Slipknot's 3rd album 'Vol.3: The subliminal verses'... Slipknot had 2 (technically 3) albums by 2001 and they were fast, furious, intense and heavy... They went into 'Vol. 3' to expand their sound and be more diverse. They delivered some of their best songs on that record, including the haunting 'Vermillion'... and the pounding 'Before I forget'. Brief history of Slipknot: Formed in Des Moines, Iowa by Shawn 'Clown' Crahan (percussion/ backing vocals) in the 90's, he was the one who wore a clown mask during Slipknot's early rehearsals and it freaked the others out... But they decided to all wear masks and coveralls to give the band members anonymity and put focus on their music... Paul Gray (bass) and Joey Jordison (drums) were early members and they assembled the first Slipknot and recorded a demo album 'Feed, mate, kill, repeat' in 1996... which was released independently. Eventually, Slipknot hired Corey Taylor (lead vocals)... replacing original vocalist Anders Colsefni... and added more members by 1998 - DJ Sid Wilson (turntables), Chris Fehn (percussion/ backing vocals), Craig '133' Jones (keyboards/ samples), Mick Thompson (guitar) ... but no major record labels wanted to sign a band from the middle of nowhere... Then, producer Ross Robinson (who had worked w/ KoRn, Sepultura, Limp Bizkit, etc.) signed Slipknot to his independent imprint I Am... and recorded what became their self-titled debut. Jim Root (guitar) soon joined and Slipknot created a buzz when they were hired for the Ozzfest '99 tour before the record was out and boasted 9 members in Slipknot - all in masks and coveralls, numbered 0 to 8 (0 -DJ Sid Wilson, 1- Joey Jordison, 2- Paul Gray, 3- Chris Fehn, 4- Jim Root, 5- Craig Jones, 6- Shawn Crahan, 7- Mick Thompson, 8- Corey Taylor) After an explosive first national tour on Ozzfest '99, Slipknot's debut album was released and sold platinum that very year... Word of the band's music reached into Europe and Asia and Slipknot were big business by 2000... They returned to play the main stage on the Ozzfest '01 tour and released an even heavier album 'Iowa' in 2001, which charted at #3 in the US (#1 in the UK, #4 in Japan) but the sales numbers were half (platinum) of the debut 'Slipknot' album (2x platinum)... Internal fighting led to a 2002 tour being canceled and Slipknot took a break. Lead singer Corey Taylor returned in 2002 w/ an unmasked 5-piece band Stone Sour - they released 6 studio albums and found their own success. Slipknot guitarist Jim Root was also a part of the band. In 2004, Slipknot patched up their differences and returned w/ a new album 'Vol. 3: The Subliminal verses'... it became another platinum success in the US (charting at #2) and the band was back on tour that year and also participated in the Ozzfest '04 tour. After some time working on various other projects, Slipknot regrouped and released their 4th major album 'All hope is gone' in 2008... It sold platinum again and charted at #1 in the US. Sadly, it was the last Slipknot album to feature the classic 9 members... In 2010, Paul Gray (bass) was found dead from a prescription drug OD... Slipknot mourned his death and honored him on a 2012 tour by having his mask and costume displayed onstage w/ a session bassist playing behind the stage. In 2014, Slipknot also honored Paul Gray by naming their new album '.5: The Gray Chapter'... but original drummer Joey Jordison was fired and Jay Weinberg (drums) played on the album and joined Slipknot w/ new bassist Alessandro Venturella... 'The Gray Chapter' charted at #1 in the US and sold gold (half million copies) in the downloading era of music. Original drummer Joey Jordison passed away in 2021 struggling for years w/ health problems. In 2019, Slipknot returned w/ "We are not your kind"...(Charted #1 in the US and UK) However, Chris Fehn (percussion) was fired that year after legal disagreements w/ the band. Michael Pfaff (percussion/ backing vocals) replaced Fehn in Slipknot. 2022 saw the release of the Slipknot album 'The end so far'... and it was another success (#2 in the US, #1 in the UK) Recently, Slipknot announced the addition of Sepultura drummer Eloy Casagrande and fired drummer Jay Weinberg... original member Craig '133' Jones (keyboards/ samples) also quietly left the band. As mysterious as ever, Slipknot still takes the stage w/ 9 members and announced work on a new album... Singer Corey Taylor has also released his first solo albums and has revealed that his other band Stone Sour has apparently broken up.

Absolutely loving this metal wave, but if you do want a break- maybe react to Johnnie guilbert. He doesn’t really do much metal music, but the music that is more metal would be Subzero (with Yung scuff), and maybe Cut me Clean. More emo sort of stuff, but really enjoyable. Good ones (that happen to be my favorites) are Repair, Vampire, Doctor, and Anxiety. (Anxiety is probably the heaviest lyrics wise, but the softest sounding)

The instructions given were to break into the house by any means and to not touch the band. This is what I was told by a fellow Slipknot fan, so I am unsure this is completely true.
