I own an Ariens 28 Deluxe that I bought in 2011, it's been a workhorse. When used, it has to do at least 2 hrs work each time, some times 4. No asphalt here, long dirt driveway and my yard is mostly lawn (I'm in the woods). This fall I had to finally fully rebuild the drivetrain, replacing bearings, shafts, bushings, drive chain and rebuild the wheel disengage unit. Over $200 in parts. Last year was a total front end repair, straighten augers, rebuild gear box and add more welds to the impeller (it broke loose once). That thing has done a lot of hard abusive work and has hit many branches, rocks, kids toys etc.. I start the season with 10 spare shear pins. I don't purposefully abuse it but...... I've replaced countless friction wheels too. Ariens are the best in my opinion. Thanks for your videos and Happy New Year to you.

I like the edges a snowblower leaves. I rented a house in South Haven Michigan on the lake for 10 years. I started blowing snow with the Toro 20 inch paddle self propelled unit that quickly got to the point it could not blow the snow high enough. I also had an 1132 Honda on tracks that I took up there. The hydrostatic forward and reverse is great but it is a lot to wrestle around turns.

Don, I would pay to have that kind of powdery snow. Unfortunately I am on Long Island NY and have to deal with too much wet snow. The best thing I have been doing for the past 5 years is giving the chute and as much of the back of the auger housing a clean with degreaser and costed it with an automotive protectant (Graphene). Before I go out I spray WD40 on every area that will contact the snow. What a difference it makes. When i finish I spray the WD40 again to reduce the corrosion. I am still using my Honda HS621 from the early 90’s and for its age still looks great! An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Even in a wet snow rei don’t often have to clear a clog.
