Fix 90% Of Chainsaw Bar Oil Leaks With This Simple Repair! kzbin.info/www/bejne/qJ2QaoOkjbJ3gZY

Thanks for the suggestion because my 193T leaks so much oil that I only fill chain lube just before I use my saw. I remember seeing your oil line replacement video and have been avoiding doing that repair. I'm hoping the o ring is the defect. I thought my leaks could possibly be from the high temperatures where I store my chainsaws.

Hi Don, I just did a bit of a binge watch/catch up of some of your videos. Always good. I'm in Australia 🇦🇺 and enjoy your videos quite a bit. I have had a stihl ms170 for a few years now and I'm wondering if there's any upgrades I could do to it to make it a better saw? Hello, I have a Stihl MS362 and I do not see the Screw Adjustment Limiting Pin, but I found it on my MS661 and made the mod to increase the movement farther to the right of the screw. I could not find the same Limit Pin on the Oil Adjustment Screw on my MS362. Does the MS362 have an Oil Limit Pin on it? The whole around the adjustment screw on the MS362 is very small, the same size as the head of the screw. I do not see the Limit Pin. Do you know how I can access the pin? What do I have to take apart to access it? If there is no Limit Pin, do you know the part number for a high volume/high output Oil Assembly for my MS362?

Another informative video. At 5:34 Dave put the oil cap on with the saw in the upright position which tells me that the oil level was below the point that his oil would leak if the cap were the problem. I have a 180MS which leaked from day one. I took it back to the dealer and they told me that all saws leaked some oil. I challenge that response as I have had saws for 30 plus years that never leaked and a Makita that leaked from a worn oilline. I thought, since I had a 2 year warranty I wound see if the the problem persist over time. My cap is a screw on cap that you finish tightening with the slotted screw driver end of he spark plug wrench. I found the screw driver end to be a sloppy fit. So, one day I ground the tip down to a thickness from 1/16" to about 1/8" thickness. The tip then fit into the cap snug and I was able to tighten the cap without chewing up the slot in the cap. That problem was solved and I realized that I had inadvertently stopped the oil leak as I was able to tighten the cap properly with out fear of messing up the cap tightening slot. It has never leaked since. That was 4 years ago.

And this is exactly where mine seems to be pouring out. The muffler needs to be removed to see the spot and since I've already got an exhaust gasket on order, I'll wait till then before I take another look here..... Stihl part No. for the set screw to block the leak is 0000 953 1001. Maybe check his video out too as what he has pointed out might just finally be a 'light bulb' moment for me after so many years of working with a motorized sump. Great machine otherwise.

Seems like all chainsaws leak a little bar oil. Some things I have noticed over the years is my Echo saws leak less bar oil than my Stihls. I've found that after running the chainsaws before puting away I crack open the oil cap than tighten it back up and let sit in the oil pan a few hours to let the residual oil drain off around the bar/sprocket area.
