So, one of my girlfriends when I was in my 20's once told me that we needed to have a serious conversation. I was like, sure. Let's communicate babe. Then we sat down, and she says she wants to tell me about all the little things that bug her about me. And I listen, and she gets really animated, and let's out regarding some stuff that I had no idea about. And I listen some more, making sure not to interrupt her. Then at the end of her getting this stuff off her chest, she jumps up, gives me a big hug around my neck, and says, "I guess that's why I really love you." I found this out when I read the owner's manual but you shouldn't have to scroll thru screens to find something as basic as the odometer. What was Triumph thinking? The screen design is the one thing I don't like about mine. I guess Triumph has a cleaner screen design on the new one.

I think this is the first time I heard that Doodle's inseam is 31" -- all this time the hook was that she was not just a new rider (back in the beginning) but that she was a short new rider -- but in what world is a 31" inseam short? I have a 25" inseam, for instance.
@pocketlint827 ай бұрын
I showed this channel to my gf when she started riding. she is 5ft and has like a 24" inseam and she had a similar sentiment. Doodle isn't actually short. I'm a 5'6 male and have a 30in inseam. I wish my legs were as long as doodles haha. Maybe I'd be able to reach the ground on a tiger 900. I crossed it off my list cause I couldn't even tip toe
@zakhey7 ай бұрын
Right on! I don't understand how riders with 30" inseam or more consider themselves short.. They have way more leg length to tripod the bike in the event of an unexpected stopping situation. Riders with inseam under 26" can truly be called shorties 🤭
@AT2Productions6 ай бұрын
@@zakheyI think part of the reason we riders with a 31” inseam or below are seen as short riders is less to do about the bikes. Look at riding pants, good luck finding pairs that aren’t 32” or 34” inseams. I had to go with a “short” version of my current touring/wet/cold weather pants because of the inseam length.

After a 3-year hiatus from MC riding, I'm back! I sold my last two bikes and thought I gave it up, but I was in desperate need of some therapy, and after a test ride, I fell in love again, this time with a Triumph Scrambler 1200XC. It seems a lot nicer on my back, with a comfy riding position, and a torque monster of an engine. It's already got heated grips, Zard exhaust, de-catted, extra heat shields, barkbusters, TPMS system, pannier, bunch of Triumph parts, but I've got a nice touring windscreen coming too, and plan to make some day trips as I can. I'm good for about an hour or so before I need a chair with back support or at least have to get off and crack my lower back, back into position. Triumphs are just so smooth. I had a similar experience to you, when I tried a Speed Triple right after I got off a Ducati Monster 1200 S. The Triumph was just so smooth! Well, I think it also has to do with their transmissions. While the 270-degree twin isn't as buttery smooth as that triple, the transmission clicks into gear so smoothly and so nice, and neutral is the easiest to find of any bike I've owned. They got it figured out over there. Also, my Aprilia Tuono 1100 was just angry all the time. It wanted to go like a raped ape, or not at all. The Scrambler is just so much more at ease, all the time. It's happy to just cruise along smoothly and still has gobs of torque when you want it. All kinds of videos to come about it. Cheers.

Maam, you can c your odo readings on the service page.. And wen you start for the first time of the day sit on d bike keeping it upright or place it on a center stand (i doubt GT pro had one).. this will help the coolant and oil to circulate evenly on all cylinders.. rather than starting it on a side stand which will cause the raised cylinder to be lubricated less compared to the cylinder at the lower height (the one towards the side stand) Wen you start always pull up the coolant temp page and run d engine till 2-3 blocks of coolant temp shows up (nice & warm) this helps in d longevity of the parts.. Trouble with tall bikes is stopping on uneven roads. If you do not see it coming or misjudge your stop, you can topple over. E.g. if the road is sloped from left to right, or there's a deep pothole. You need to use one foot down on the side of the bike where the road is higher. Miss that on approach or be off balance to put the wrong foot down, and you risk falling over. Having said this though, Doodle's skills are really impressive. Those clips of driving over logs and other stunts, slow speed skills, etc, are stunning. Stunning! No other word for it. With that level of experience, the bike becomes and extension of yourself and handling is second nature. Still need to be on full alert though. I suppose however, when you get used to dropping your bike it's not too bad. Especially with those bars. (Finger's crossed.) One thing I used to think about was Doodle's moto-cross riding. I remember a video or two where the group were on taller moto-cross bikes. This was early days in training, and lots of fun. I remember Doodle dropping one, and bending a gear shifter lever. (Oops. 🙂) Anyway Doodle rode a 250cc over a 125cc when offered a choice. I think the 250cc was generally bigger. Doodle had a few minor misshaps. Not being critical, but at the time I was going to suggest paying for her to retake the course. (It was still a fledgling channel then, compared to now.) However this time using the 125cc. ... I mean, Doodle talked about redoing courses anyway. It would have been a reason for another great video. It was not meant as a put-down to Doodle at all. Or finding fault in riding tall bikes. I wanted to see if she had fun with the smaller bike, since 125cc bikes are a blast. Or if it was a better stepping stone to moving up to bigger taller bikes. I feel no matter what I say I will be judged as thinking I know best. Or patronising. That's not what I mean though. (EDIT: Possibly why I never suggested it, through fear or being seen as insulting.)

Just a two cents regarding the interface: it's a common issue in many, maaany places. You get an interface designed by someone who is not necessarily a rider and not always in a way that is user friendly.
@Talishar3 ай бұрын
The issue engineers have is that they're usually given a very strict budget that's almost impossible to adhere to. This is coupled with a relatively underperforming processor. This results in not having very much memory to work with and a processor seemingly out of a graphing calculator. This means that the entire OS and UI has to be extremely lightweight and require very little memory and very low processing power in order to keep it super responsive. They're then given the control layout and told that they have to get it all to work with the chosen layout. Then they have to remember that they need to keep some memory in reserve for maintenance, data collection, some user settings and a page file. When you look at the specs that the engineers are given, it's freaking amazing what they've come up with. It's especially important when you remember that these have to be 100% waterproof, weatherproof and sun/UV proof.

If you're still looking for a backrest, take a look at Sargent aftermarket seats. I bought a seat and a backrest for my 2017 BMW 1200 GS. If I do a full day of riding, my back gives me a little trouble be the end of the day. The Sargent backrest helps. The backrest for my GS is a compromise. It makes the seat hard to remove, and it would get in the way for any serious adventure riding, but I use mine almost exclusively for touring. Oh, and I went through a similar experience with the color. I bought my GS as a leftover so there were no color options. Fortunately, the color has grown on me and I don't see many in this color on the road.

To avoid feeling like you are balancing on top of the pad, you have to air it down until your butt is on the seat and the pad is just providing support. When the seat on the V-Strom wore out, I replaced it with the Suzuki gel seat. I never used the AirHawk after that. I don't know what is available for the Tiger or how effective it might be, but if you have an opportunity to try out a gel seat, it might be worth switching.

My wife has a 2022 GT Low. She is 5'3" and it was one of the very few bikes that work for an experienced shorter rider who likes to tour. The low seat was not great, and the knee bend issue is real. The Triumph comfort seat combined with 1" up and 1" back bar riser made it perfect. Its a shame that they discontinued the low version for 2024.

The blue colour is fab! I have white and it looks great and easily seen on the road by car drivers failing to look for more than 1 sec.

Hi. Great video . I have the same bike and colour here in Australia. I use a different screen layout, style 2. It shows all that small writing at the top in a larger format. In this format , if you scroll to the tyre pressures then scroll right or left it shows you the odometer reading. Also if you go into the Main Menu and select Display. Then go to Visible Trays, you're able to select/deselect what you can see when scrolling through the information on the display. I don't use Go pro or music so I have them deselected. I fitted a Scorpion Serket slip on in place of the standard exhaust . Sounds even better and saves about 2.5 kg in weight.

Doodle, I think you have an excellent all around Adventure bike. Unless you are boulder jumping, the Tiger 900 GT with good tires, skid plate, crash bars, etc. like you have will more than handle most off-road adventure touring. And I love your blue color over the red - personal choices. I ride a 850 GS, rode the 900 GT and prefer the Triumph, so my next bike will be the GT, which I do plan to take off road, so another set of Anakee Adventures. The 900 Rally is just too tall for me at 66 years old, 5'7" with a 30" inseam. Yes, I know all the techniques, but still prefer a lower seat for many reasons. Enjoy what you have to its fullest! You done good :)

I loved using a wood bead seat "cushion" on my old VStrom. So nice.

Thank you for always sharing useful content. Enjoyed the video. I love my Triumph too. May I ask, where did you get the tee shirt you’re wearing in this video?

I used that air bubble thing once or twice, and then got a Seat Concept seat cushion and cover for my Versys 650, "remodeled" my seat and I never looked back. Sure, it was more expensive but definitely worth it for me.

Hello! Love your channel and you inspired me to get back into riding; I own a Triumph Tiger Sport 660 and I'm still struggling on the slow speed skills since it sits up so much higher than my old bike which was a cruiser, but I hated the color options too so I wrapped mine with a purple/blue duo chrome from vivvd vinyls and it came beautifully! If you want to see let me know and I'll find a way to share! Stay safe and thanks for inspiring us female riders!!! If you want a content suggestion I would love to see you show if you've found a difference on tight turns from cruiser style to adventure to sport bikes since I've found there is a bit of a difference! I'm recovering from a broken foot bone since I went down practicing tight turns but hoping to be back on mine in a couple more weeks! ❤🏍️

The odo is also in your triumph app if you are curious. If you don't mind losing an inch off your passenger seat then Utopia make a back rest.

I bought a ‘23 850 Sport as a 3rd bike in the orange. Haven’t been ridden it much. It sits in the garage between my ‘18 Street Triple R and ‘21 HD Sport Glide. I didn’t car for all of the extras at this time. My daughter named it Tigger and will become her first bike. Still trying different positions on the windscreen so I’m not about to bobble head.

Seems like a lot of the electronic new screens aren’t designed from a practical rider perspective. On both my Ducati and my Buick it was a major chore to “learn “ the set up process. Show me basic information on main screen and make it simple to figure out the features.
