I usually never leave comments to video but I had to leave one for you. This was one of the best reviews that I´ve ever seen. You go direct to the point, talking about the differences between the bikes without taking too much time and making me want to skip something. Amazing job! Keep up the good work

I have owned the BMW f900XR and Tracer GT. The BMW F900XR was a comfortable motorcycle , but the engine was that of a tractor with lackluster performance . The F900XR after 3000 miles the water pump went spraying the undercarriage with coolant.. The dealer picked up the BMW to do the repairs. I Had to wait 8 weeks for a water pump from BMW. According the the dealership, there wasn't one waterpump in the US and had to get one from Germany. For that reason I will never get another BMW. The Tracer is a great motorcycle. It is the best sport tourer in its class. The engine and chassis work perfect together. I will say my only complaint on the Tracer is the windscreen. Overall a great motorcycle. I was considering the Tiger 900 Rally Pro. I am a big fan of Triumph motorcycles. It was a hard choice to decide on either the Tracer or Rally Pro. But realistically, the Tracer is more suitable for the type of riding that I will be doing. If you plan on doing any off roading then by all means get the Tiger. Either way you can't go wrong.

Thank you for sharing your ownership experience and helping others in the community. The Tracer engine is indeed the most engaging of them all. I was expecting to love it because of my XSR experience but the very tweaks that make that platform more touring worthy, made it unattractive to me. I'm glad I rode it before buying one. The Tiger was surprising the most wholesome experience even though I've never really been interested in Triumph ADV/Touring designs. My only apprehension is the heating issue which I am yet to find a satisfactory solution to.

Great video. I’ve been considering the Triumph 900 Gt Pro, and stepping down from a 1200 Triumph Explorer. Love the Explorer but at 74 I would like to lighten up my ride. Your comment on the heat will have me test the 900 Gt on a hot day. Thanks again!
@RiderXp
@RiderXp 9 ай бұрын
Thank you! I was exaggerating for humor but the heat is definitely perceivable. I suspect that tuning these engines to meet tougher emissions standards has something to do with the heat because I’ve been noticing that in a lot of bikes lately. Good luck and tip of my hat to you sir for continuing to ride, I hope i can too.

I’ve got a 22 Tracer 9 GT. Love it! The more I ride it the more I want to ride it. It’s been years since I had a bike that I want to ride in the cold or rain. As far as looks, when I got it I thought the same, it’s different, the longer I own it the more I love the looks. It’s the kind of bike you love it more the longer you own it I think. As far as heat I don’t think it’s to bad. I had a Thunderstroke. It was a blast furnace 😂😂

Nice review. Have to point out the Tiger 900 you list specs for and the one you rode are two different bikes. The '24 you didn't ride feels more powerful, the seat is more comfortable, the vibes are mostly gone and the engine heat is far better than the earlier one you rode (can tell easily by the dash and different style mirrors). My personal opinion after testing each for my ergos and riding style, I think the Tracer 9 GT+ just edges out the '24 Tiger 900 GT Pro with the XR being a far far distant 3rd.

Thanks! I did get the last year's version (since I'm not big enough yet to get access to Media bikes fresh off the press). Thanks for pointing out that the new one has improved upon those things because out of the 3, it was my favorite one. Cheers!

I bought the 22 Tracer 9 GT in Canada in 2023. My previous bikes were 2010 Ducati Monster 796 and 2014 Kawasaki Vaquero (sold). The Tracer fits both my previous bikes, the monster is sporty but not comfortable, the Vaquero was super comfortable, but I got tired of scraping floorboards and being only 5’8” 180lbs, it wasn’t for me. On the Clutch of the Tracer, yup, the clutch’s initial take up takes time to get used to, it has a long throw to the biting point, then it feels like it is dragging. Aside from the clutch engagement it ticks all the boxes for me.
@RiderXp
@RiderXp 4 ай бұрын
Yeah I prefer that generation of the Tracer. Has all that one could need without the extra frills and cost. I wonder if you could adjust the clutch cable slack and make the friction zone a little more slick?

I bought a 2 yr old F900xr with 1,200 miles for $9,500 - and it was a loaded model… and had zero problems with it during the last two years and 7k miles… I’m 70 and have had dozens of motorcycles, both big and small for 55 years… this is the best all around motorcycle I have ever owned. The seat does need a pad for over 200 miles in a day…. Good comparison, but I’d stay away from being influenced by one fellow who complains in English, while living in Germany… he’s not very good, except for complaining.

Great video, nicely done. Wonder if I’ve ridden with you on a CFST group ride (Solomon’s Castle), maybe a month or two back? You were one of the quicker riders 😀. I’ve been looking for a middle weight touring back and have really been looking at these 3 bikes and your video was perfect! I lean toward the Yamaha Tracer 9 GT +, but all the rider intervention concerns me. The Triumph is a better looking bike to me, but I don’t love the idea of a 19” front wheel. I can’t see any reason to strongly consider the BMW, mainly because the reviews I’ve read and watched, people don’t love it. I need to go test ride the tracer and the tiger, I’ve got a short inseam as well so 32” will be a stretch so that’s a concern as well.
@RiderXp
@RiderXp 7 ай бұрын
Yes I was on the Solomon’s Castle Ride with Malangz and some Ducati riders. That’s where I shot the Tracer 9GT test ride. What a small world. I had the same reservation about the 19” front wheel but interestingly, it didn’t impact my confidence tipping into turns. I do like the Tracer for a Sport tourer feel but since I own the same engine in my XSR900, the electronic intrusion with semi-active suspension, the longer wheel base and dampened power delivery made me reconsider my touring bike choice (I was seriously considering the Tracer for my next bike before I rode it) At the moment, my 2 favorite touring bikes are the Tiger 900GT & Vstrom 800RE (standard in US)

We don't get the A2 here in the US. A2 needs to be under 45-50hp as far as I can remember. US BMW website claims 99hp. Even if it is 105, it didn't ride like that.

I wonder how the new V100 Mandelo would compete with this group. Maybe it's not a true touring bike like this lot, but Moto Guzzi do claim it's a sports tourer. It certainly looks better than any of these bikes...by a long shot.

Triumph owner here Yes, the heat that comes off is HORRIBLE Lots of complaints from other owners Exhaust I was unaware you could put a slip on, on the Triumph Thought the entire system had to be changed out
@RiderXp
@RiderXp 4 ай бұрын
Thanks for sharing. My understanding is that trying to meet emissions, manufacturers end up restricting the intake & exhaust system and that causes the issue. If one can find a good tuner, aftermarket air filter (so it breathes better), a full system exhaust without the unnecessary weight and contraptions inside and a good tune for optimal air-fuel mixture does wonders to most bikes. Lower weight, smoother power & torque curve and in most cases a cooler engine. I was fortunate enough to have my racebike tuned by a really talented tuner and that’s how I found out about the difference that makes.

The BMW F900XR base price is "low", but to get it up to the spec of the Tracer 9GT it costs WAY more! The Tracer 9GT isn't perfect, the seat is truly awful & the screen is even worse. Both problems can be fixed, something you can't do with the BMW's problems. The Tiger is great, but a bit more expensive than the Tracer, but you dog et better controls & instruments.
@RiderXp
@RiderXp 9 ай бұрын
That’s a fair assessment. No wonder Tracer is the most popular of the 3 and justified an upgraded Trim. I just hope Yamaha continues the GT trim for people who do not need the GT+ frills.
